I have got a little done, floor cut and painted , bought my pink Styrofoam boards to replace old flotation foam.I guess I will
put it everywhere I can,I only want to keep the power head ABOVE water should the worse happen. painted floor.jpg bare floor.jpg

Nice progress Kitch! New deck looks almost too good to cover-up! :thumb:

I fit more foam under the side trays - Wasted space behind the side panels anyway.

Flotation placement is a bit of a conundrum. The best way to keep a holed boat upright is to put the flotation up as high as possible so it can't turn turtle in a wavy sea - BUT - flotation doesn't help a bit until it's underwater. Like GA, I also added styrofoam in the walls below the side trays and both ahead and behind them, but that's a limited space. I also put it under the gunwales and under the stern deck as well as in the nose. Apart from loss of lives, I figure my worst case scenario is watching the boat disappear into the depths with me responsible to raise it again for environmental reasons. - Grandad

Decking job looks perfect Kitch!

So you know the power head is where the weights at so it'll be under water for sure with the bow up in the event of a catastrophe. Not sure a guy can fight that.

Cram whatever you can anywhere, Kitch. I put some in front of the the trays like Grandad said, too. It might still be awash, but it's gonna be slow and that's the goal. Of course the under deck is loaded too. :D

Great job on the decking. I can't wait to get to that point of my rehab! How are you anchoring the flooring and are you doing anything with the seams where the plywood meets?

I am using 1/4"x1" griprange on my 5/8" floor, screws are not an option. using 3 coats of rusto pro with nonskid additive after
the first coat. as you can see in the pics I added connecting boards missing the stringers. painted floor.jpg thumbnail_20160328_184919.jpg

1/4" diameter blinds? Are they large flange and what are you using to set those?

WM, yes 1/4" dia. much better shear and tensile strength and the standard head dia is big enough for me not to worry, I will be looking at them
all the time because im not the carpet kinda guy. thumbnail_20160302_173045.jpg

I didn't consider the 1/4" for the deck attachment. I do have an up to 1/4" pneumatic riveter hmmmm that makes me think since my SS has a shelf the deck attaches too that is also solid riveted to the sides of the hull.

I have a pneumatic as well and may try that as well. How is the non skid additive working, I was looking at that also.

After seeing how well 3/16 dia DID NOT DO from factory, and po was running a 70 hp 2stroke.
and Im going with a 90 4 stroke,I will be beefing up any and everything I can.including all the rivets on side panels and splash well.

The non skid stuff worked 100% better than I ever thought it would.
