Update:

I got the splash well lip all formed and faired now, so there's no more removing the cap in my lifetime. It's epoxied shut.

I also used 3/16 stainless blind rivets to secure the cap around the hull.

It's over 90 degrees here so i'm still waiting to spray, but all I have to do is tape it all off and have at it. I have the 545 primer and 3m glazing putty on hand.

I attacked some inside the hull issues while waiting for a weather window. The plastic trim running around the inner cap was separated on one corner, so i address that with clamps and glue. It will be primed and painted to match the hull.

I temporarily screwed on the sliding seat bases to the old seats to do a final alignment of the bases. I used a beam width base to set everything up, then marked it and cut it with the table saw as small pads that i will attached the sliders to, then glass them in, then carpet them with the rest of the deck.

As painful as it was. I removed all the masking. I'm just not ready for color coat, and after week, tape just doesn't want to come off. I want to cut out the remaining gauge and switch holes, the radio cutout, and better fair the previous repairs.

Originally. I was gonna paint the cap and hull sides the turquoise, with white accents. but now I'm thinking, turquoise hull sides, accents, and stripe, over a white cap. The sides are almost ready to go, so I'll spray them when the paint comes in. Then address the cap.

Tough call, but I'm sure it will be for the best. A mostly white cap will be a much cooler (temperature) boat to be on, too.

So the Island Turquoise paint came in, so I taped off the hull bottom, cap, and hardware "Again", sanded the hull sides down with 320, glazed any imperfections I found, and put 3 coats on.

79 degrees out today, dry and sunny, the paint went on well.

The color is less green than the transom shows, in dull light, the hull sides show the tru color, which I'm happy with. Now I cna put on any below the rub rail hardware, and the trim tabs, then work on the interior and cap fairing. I have to order some Snow White paint soon.

To get a straight shot at the sides, I had to remove the trailer wheels, also saved my back from squatting down so low.
