Thanks Mike, Yeah I know, the short season here sucks. The dancer is still at the slip, I did clean everything out tho, so its ready to come out. The CC is coming out this week, its colder at the lake than at the shore right now.Nice progress!!! Cant believe it time to pull boat out, feels like we just put them in.
I give it a 50/50 chance the Chrysler works and ends up on the transom, otherwise ill shop for a merc 115-150.Mine is still in also, we are planning one last night on her this weekend. Friday Phil Lesh and Friends concert in Port Chester NY and then Saturday night on the boat should be a good weekend. She will be coming out at the end of the month. Looking forward to seeing your engine progress during the cold season.
I dont know how the weather is down by you Tod, but up here, they thread the needle between catching the late Bluefin tuna bite in oct/nov, and avoid the inboard engine block freeze come mid December/Jan.I think the countersunk screws in the channel is a good solution - at least you won't have to go on/off/on/off/on with the cap! Being my first boating season, I also can't believe it's almost over! I'm hoping to get the boat out this weekend, and maaaaybe get it out once more in November, but I can't see being able to boat much more than that.
I have neoprene for between the tank and brace, and between the tank and cradle. I bought a roll of 1" x 1/8" so i have a bunch of it for anywhere. Nothing is secured in yet till the cap is above. Is that metal to metal on the tank?
I'm in TN, and it sounds like yall are much tougher boaters than we are, haha. For me, winter is the time to get out the small plastic boats and paddle the steep whitewater creeks that only flow that time of year.I dont know how the weather is down by you Tod, but up here, they thread the needle between catching the late Bluefin tuna bite in oct/nov, and avoid the inboard engine block freeze come mid December/Jan.
Me and my brother used to share an outboard whaler, and every season he's wait me out to see who would pull it. One year I did it in January and had to chop ice in the salt water just to get it to the ramp lol. He's a stubborn taurus.
Did the same thing in November in Georgia once. The fishing was great!... had to chop ice in the salt water just to get it to the ramp lol.
After just putting a fresh coat of bottom paint on the 330, sanding and fairing don't seem so badVery nice. About time you got busy.
