Re: 1969 Larson - Big Project
1. Noted on the PB fillet size. I'll size down on my bulkheads.
2. Also noted on fillet and glassing in tandem. Logistically a bit challenging, but again I'll give it a shot at bulkhead time.
3. I had been using the blue wonders for gloves. I'm trying something new now that so far is better.
4. I like the tyvec suits when grinding. However... I'm a big enough guy that whenever I bend over they rip. (I have pitcher's butt). Not ideal, but wearing Carhartt jeans, a good long sleeve shirt, and gloves seems to be effective. I do more laundry, but don't rip clothes. I need to look for a protective suit that is a bit more forgiving!
5. I do have a soak. What I haven't bothered to grab yet is a squeegee or scraper for my rollers. I am saving my brushes now though. When I get some more roller refills I'm going to grab a paint scraper to help with cleaning them off.
6. Funny you should mention that... the second I got my material order I realized that I could make my own with scissors or probably my industrial shredding machine. Oh, well. Gotta use it now!
7. Yup
8. I did in fact make a jig of my front keel and noted the deck height on the transom during tear down. I didn't have a traditional stringer system, so I'm making one up. The more challenging part is replicating the deck height relatively accurately.
As you may recall, I had that weird foam layer on the sides of the hull that extended onto the deck. This made marking the deck height side-to-side basically impossible. However, I know I can get the stringer height correct using my jigs and transom markings. Theoretically, I should be able to use strings side-to-side off the stringer tops to mark out a new deck template... we'll see how that goes!
And yes, I can't figure out how to use the multi-quote tool! Back to it!
