I ended up going with vinylapproach. The guy worked up a proof very quick and I had the stickers within 3 days. He specializes in vintage boat decals. haven't put them on yet but really happy with them so far. was about 45$ shipped for all 4 stickers which I thought was reasonable.

Any one have recommendations for custom vinyl. I need to get the starcraft logos but I also want to get my registration numbers in the matching font/style. also want something custom done for the back.
Not sure if you know anyone with one of those Cricut machines - my wife was able to make the licence numbers, then I just transferred them on

The guy I found to do it did a great job. he actually layered 3 different vinyl cutouts together to mimic the original design. probably hard to see from far away.

Stripes! adds at least another 8.9 horsepower!

regarding vinyl decals...i grabbed whatever i could off of ebay and etsy.

Here's a recommendation from outside-the-box...this guy (Midwest Custom Graphics) helped me w/ some custom "stock" decals for my wheelhorse tractor. If you send him what you want he may be able to help. https://www.redoyourhorse.com/
I was hoping I would pick up about 15 knots lol. it definitely looks faster

3 years on this project and its almost complete, just doing some finishing touches. Added the accent lighting tonight after putting everything back together. Taking it out in the morning for a short cruise. 1968 Starcraft Holiday. She looks good for 54 years old.

(before anyone gets bent out of shape over the interior lighting, we spend a lot of time docked at waterfront restaurants / bars and that is what the lighting is for, not while underway)

Custom speaker enclosures finished. These took a pretty good amount of work to figure out. they were designed in CAD and am happy to share with anyone in the group if interested. They are sized at 2 cu.ft. each which was what my 10" JL's called for. Turned out really well and fit like a glove.

Finally was able to get out on the water again after getting everything back together. I am really in love with this boat :)
Would you care to share what you used for the interior lights. Looks like 4 bolt style on the inside gunnels? Seem to light up the cockpit nicely.

I ordered them in stainless from another supplier but it looks like Iboats has them in white. they are not cheap but appear to be really high quality. Time will tell. They are easy to install. one 3/32 hole for the screw and a 5/16 hole for the alignment pin and wiring.

Thanks. Only 2 years behind schedule šŸ¤£. I have my eye out for one of these now. I'm guessing it will be a while before I find one though. Just love the lines on this boat. These tin boats sure do get in your blood.

Been a minute but have been having a lot of fun this year with the boat. One question I have is with my current prop setup. I am currently running a 14.25x19. holeshot is great and no complaints with top end speed either. The problem I notice, after about 4000rpm there is very little change in speed. Assuming its excessive prop slip. I have to watch my throttle because the engine will climb into the low to mid 5k range and WOT is supposed to be 4600-4800. I'm not sure If I should adjust Pitch or diameter (if there is even room to do so). Anyone have insight on the matter.

On a side note I was actually able to get out on the water Saturday night by myself for a few hours. It was the most relaxing thing I have done in along time. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love when my family or friends are with me but it is pure bliss when flying solo every once in a while.

I'm not really sure about the model or make as the only numbers visible is the prop size and pitch that is cast on the back side of one of the blades. I'm not sure if you can tell in the photos but it is cupped, not sure if that's a lot or not.

I guess part of the problem at least is the rough edges. maybe I just need a fresh prop of the same size and pitch?

I haven't checked the speed this year but end of last year I was out with the wife and both kids, riding on glass, we were maxing out around 38mph (gps). Its not that I need or want it to go faster. I just want it to be dialed in a little better. basically the way it is now, 3/4 throttle is around 4600-4800 rpm, which is also about where you are at max speed. the last 1/4 increases rpm but almost no change in speed.

I was thinking you may have had an older dog eared prop that came on the 4cyl motors of the era but that one does have some cupping but the rake is pretty tame.

The pic is of a Turning Point Hustler, a good priced AL prop that has all the SS features, substantial cupping, aggressive rake and hub venting. The rake is so that I had to alter the trim tab anode with a belt sander LOL. It's a 19p on my SS with the 115HP, the Chief I have a Quicksilver Black Diamond but it's like a 23 or 24p.
