Yeah I thought about that . But instead I covered the motor with a tarp and I have a lamp turned on under it . I think that should work ok for tonight .

I would suggest that if that port stringer is 90+% good then the whole thing does not need replacing.

It’s just one spot on the stringer . Once I get the motor out we can get a better idea on the damage .
I think jus water collected were the motor cover and deck boards came together .
Do you know how the main stringer is fastened ? I see the large fasteners that come down to the lateral ribs from the top . Would these have been screwed in place from the bottom up also ?

I believe those bolts just run down through the frames and that’s it. I don’t think there are any screws from the bottom.
There should be one bolt through each frame. Is that what you are seeing?

So it’s possibly a through bolt?
Or a lag screw ?

Small update ..
Been working on closing in the barn .. Got 3 sides closed in and working on the front now . Just used cheap wafer board with multiple layers of paint in the outside . As long as it last a few years I’m ok with it .
The back panels are some plastic panels I had for years laying in the yard . Finally found a use for them .
Gunna have a 12’ x 8’ door opening in front .

Got the front side closed up and the barn doors hung with 1 coat of paint . I need to pick up a ledger board for the top to finish it off .

considering the 4:1 safey rating, plus the reduction for double wrapping, your fine.

Make sure the flooring under the posts is thick/reinforced enough to take and hold the weight
for the duration of the lift.

Straps are strongest in a basket like yours is rigged, so that's good to go!
