Wow! Had to stop in and comment on your boat! Amazing work, lots of talent collectively on this forum. I discovered your boat while doing a search for Lonestars. I own a '61 fiberglass 15 footer, and was not sure of the model. I am almost positive it is the Flamingo after viewing yours. Have been enjoying it on the lakes of Maine and even took her for a quick spin on the Saco River and into the ocean on a very calm day. I love the lines of this boat, she reminds me of a shark! Purchased almost ten years ago, and she has been a good addition to the family, with the exception of needing some new seats... getting aggravated with passenger one randomly slipping into a flat position as we are speeding along, ha ha! Well, it gives people a laugh to see that happen to me, so I don't mind too much, but gotta figure out a better way to entertain people! It is really good to see and hear others appreciating some of the older boats. Honestly, I feel the Lonestar really doesn't date, and when I discovered mine was a '61, I was completely surprised. Is this your first Lonestar? Would be interested in finding out more about them--I do know from being on other sites that they were made in Texas, and I am sure you know the history... but would like to hear if there are other owners or admirers out there still. I was also interested to see that there is an aluminum version, the Malibu (?) .... Keep up the good work, all. I have learned so much from visiting this site-glad I found it! Happy Boating!
