Well this year has been a lot like the year I tried to launch the Blue Flamingo...WET and Stormy. May was the Wettest May in the History of Oklahoma. Over 20 inches of Rain in some places. Tornadoes, Floods, the Whole Enchilada!!!! Now in June The Tropical Storm Bill is making it's way thru and we're having more flooding with over 8 more inches of Rain in some places. The BF is STILL wearing her winter clothes. I've been feeling sluggish ever since before Christmas and coughing my head off so I finally went to the Dr. about a month ago and low and behold discovered I again had Heart Blockage soooo, they put in 2 more stents 5 weeks ago. Feel like a NEW WOG!!!!! But haven't let any of that keep me down!!! Been doing some upholstery work and some Wood Working too. Here's the proof...

V-Berth for 28ft Cabin Cruiser + Galley Cushions. Sailrite Material 4" Memory Foam with Rayon Batting. Started a week before I had the stents, finished up yesterday. (No more jobs till next fall. Time for WOG to PLAY this summer!!!!)

This weekend the Rain's supposed to clear out and temps are to be in the 90's sooo, I'm going to attempt to remove the BF's winter clothe's, give her a bath, Tune up the motor fire her up and see if we can get on the lake. (Pics Soon!!!) My lake (Skiatook) is the ONLY one that's usable. All the rest are above Flood Stage and no boats are launching. Mine was 17 ft below normal level at the start of all of this and now it's only 4 ft below normal. Some parts of Oklahoma really needed this moisture but...I'll be glad to see it gone!!!! This flooding is bad for a lot of folks!!!

Well, the best laid plans of Mice and Men sometimes go astray!!! I guess that's how the saying goes. I had a 3 day weekend all planned out. No rain in the forecast, Plenty of heat. Uncover the BF, Give her a quick bath, Hook up the muffs, fire her up to make sure she was still running good like last year and then go to the lake on Saturday But...Doncha just hate those Buts!!!!! Since we've had all this rain the grass was really high cuz I couldn't mow with all the rain, I thought I'll mow really quick and then start on the boat. BUT before I mow I better sharpen the blades. BUT before I sharpen the blades I need to go get a new battery cuz the last time I had to jump it. So went and got a new battery, and installed it, BUT, is didn't bother to check that they reversed the posts soooo You guessed it, I put positive on Negative and Negative on Positive and...Shorted out the Electrical system on the mower.!!!!!:blue::mad::embarassed: Now where did I put that Multimeter!!! Finally traced it down to a $75 dollar Rectifier/Regulator BUT no one in town had it so I had to order it, BUT it won't be in till next Wednesday, So I had to call someone to Mow my yard BUT they couldn't get to it till Yesterday and since it was SOOOOOOO high they charged me more!!!! The BF still has her Winter Clothes on!!!!! BUT, I did learn a LOT about small engine electrical systems and how to diagnose BAD rectifier's, Stators, etc.... And guess what...They're predicting RAIN for next weekend!!!!!

When the mower didn't start that should have been the perfect excuse to go ahead and launch the BF !! The yard cutting can wait ! :)

Yeah, Hindsight is 20/20!!!! I realized that on Saturday afternoon, when I was ordering parts and talking to the LawnMowing Service. What a Waste!!!! The Admiral was Quick to remind me that I should have "Hired" the Lawn Service in the first place and she and I could have enjoyed the weekend instead of trying to SAVE the Money that I ended up Spending anyway!!!! My response were the 6 Magic Words to a Long and Happy Marriage..."Yes Dear, You're Right, I'm Sorry!!!"

6 weeks ago my Skiatook Lake was 17 feet below normal level. Today it's only 2 ft below normal. That's a 15 ft rise. It has NO creeks or rivers flowing into it. That's all Run-Off and Direct Rain Water going into it in the last 6 weeks!!! AMAZING!!!!!!

Oh well and that's all I and you can say to that! And yes get a service to cut the lawn so you can put more time to Iboats and of course your boats.
Last but not least ....Yes She, the Queen is right! Always Right!
Odd weather everywhere. Ground runoff like that sure isn't good for da fishies I think.
Maybe in the next 2 weeks if the waters are up. :hail:

Soooo good to hear from you Decker!!!! I truly hope you are doing well. Even though you've gone over to the "DARK SIDE" and you're working on a "TINNY" I still enjoy watching and hearing about your work!!!! I'm going to be retiring next year and I truly hope that once I have all that time on my hands that I can wander down in your vicinity and shake your hand in person. Please send me a PM again with all your personal contact info so I can file it away. The recent forum issues wiped out all my past member contact info stuff.

It's 6/26 and I've been on the water exactly 3 times so far this season. The ground in my yard is supersaturated right now and the weather pattern doesn't look like it's going to change. tonight's forecasted low temp. 50 degrees.
