Re: 1957 Duracraft Duraflite Custom

Thanks for all the holiday wishes. I'm finally up & around more, if you haven't gotten the seasons flu this year, I hope you don't. Wow, completely kicked the Admiral & I to the bed for the better part of a week. We didn't even celebrate christmas until yesterday.

I hope that 2014 sees some of our projects splashed and all are happy & healthy w/ you & yours.

Thanks again for the holiday wishes & for stopping by. I may get a bit of time on the Duracraft on or about New Years, so updates pending.........

Get feeling better, JB. Tough working on a boat (or anything) when you aren't up to snuff.

Glad you are at least feeling some better and will pray for NO relapse. I look forward to any resto. updates whenever they come, I wouldn't rush the recovery.

Thanks for the well wishes. I got some Duraflite ads yesterday to add to my Duracraft file :)

Didn't think I was rushing things, but if last night & this am are any indication, I'm going back in the other direction. Carp, I think it took my dad almost a month to kick the hacking cough & he cracked a rib hacking & coughing.

Going to be a long winter at this pace :cold: :blue:

Been quietly slumbering, under a blanket of snow. The boat too :cold:

Winter snuck up on me & whopped the full steam ahead progress right outta sight..... Collecting parts & pieces for several projects & been to Louisville a couple of times. That, the holidays, sick for most of my time off and now fighting the weather, makes for slow goings around these parts.

Currently, all I can see out my office window is a white hazy of blowing snow........ Going to be that way thru the weekend here, and most of next week too :blue:

Thanks for checking in.....

All heart WOG all heart

Clearly, I'm not in a hurry......... Besides, if I did finish 1, I'd probably drop out & off iboats, never to be seen again

No garage makes it tough. And no place to put up a temp shelter anywhere at the house. But, yeah, agreed, no excuses.....

Yeah, I'm a very Lucky Man having almost 3/4 of an acre for a back yard and a 3 car garage shop. I remember what it was like back in the day when I did NOT have any work area at all. It was NOT fun. I HAD to yank your chain...It's a LAW!!!! Doncha Know!!!! When the Snow stops and the Sun peeks back thru the Gray I KNOW you'll be hittin it hard. You need to get a Sewing Machine and get started on your interior. This is Perfect Upholstery Weather!!!!!

WTH???

Winter snuck up on you?... you didn't start until winter!!! It's not like you live in Florida or something yanno.

Go back to sleep, April will be here in a little while and you can resume operations then. Winter is the worst time to try and restore a boat anyway, even if you do have a heated shelter... and if you don't have one, you're really mucked up!

Just remember. Unless you're working on them, a bunch of derelict boats and boat parts laying around is called a mess...

Sorry brutha,

I didn't know you are without a space to work on her...

We all appreciate your advice on the forum helping others with their projects!

Spring is around the corner!

 My admiral's words exactly... :faint2:

Doing internet research on iboats and stock piling parts is forward progress too!

I share your pain JB. My islander wont even come close to fittin' in my garage. It's out in the driveway covered in a tarp freezing to death. I swear on the cold winter mornings when I walk past it...I can hear it saying "help me".

I'm not sure which is worse....... You are waiting on the weather to GET :thumb: to do more hard work on yours, and I'm waiting on the weather to have some fun AFTER all the hard work on mine .
