A lot of contrast after the 2 part bleach .. It has to be sanded . It darkens up a good bit after sanding .. 4DEE3A70-65B3-479A-A15C-55487A9677EE.jpeg

That is after sanding and and just wiped down with a damp cloth on the right .

Yeah, mahogany can get expensive, but that looks like a nice slab....and a brand new dremel scroll saw cant be bad either!

She’s looking very nice!

(my personal .002, I would agree with nothing in the foredeck seams.)

Looking great Sam, wish I were closer to help out, love working with wood and regret my wooden boat was too far gone.

Every once in a while the easier route wins out.....caulking seams is a tedious job! Looking good Sam!

I see reason not to caulk as well but I had to say previous thought at a attempt to instill doubt and help you lie awake at 3 am wondering with anxiety and a mountain of indecisive thoughts :)

LOL ! Micky I don’t need much help being indecisive! I do that all by myself ..
If the planks were wider AND there was a solid band of wood around the edge of the bow to contain the planks I would most definitely be caulking the joints .. ;)
‘And talking of indecision.. Everytime I’m out there the debate in my head is to stain or not to stain . Like there a little Sam on each of my shoulders each trying to sway me one way or the other :boink::whip:
After all this work the last thing I want is to screw it up ..:twitch:

What are u worried about?, if u dont like the stain, just sand it all down including the corners and crevices, then wood bleach the holes again and maybe replace all the plugs  :D

So what your saying nicely is it is the same amount of work as replacing the foam under the deck on my boat.

make a test board with a few strips of mahogany, etc with plugs. stain one half, dont stain the other. that way if you dont like it, you only made an expensive conversation piece.
