Wow Ez, wowowow!!!

Did you just screw the mounts for the gas tank right into the floor? Or did you pre-drill, fill with somethin like PB or 5200 and then screw it down? *shrug*

She's comin together so nicely. Makes me wanna get crackin on mine, once the weather dries up!!!!

Looking good....

My trailer guy used a calipers to measure the axle and everything fit.

It is looking awesome EZ! Looks like you are getting real close!

Just a note, I thought that the stern light was supposed to be 1 meter above the bow light, at least in some cases? Its been a few years since I rigged a boat from scratch, so I Could:D be wrong.

Now lets see it on the water!

Personally, I think that you should make the motor cover custom to the boat, unless you plan on selling the motor in the near future. Maybe paint it to match the boat and put starcraft decals or even a "This boat powered by iboats.com".

Why do all the work just to have the outboard look like everyone elses??

I like OEM looking outboards for some reason. Doesn't have to be exactly correct for the year but it does have to look OEM. I'm weird like that.

Saw your picture of your bow light installed....I tried the same 2 mile led
bow light on my boat...Love how bright it is and that it is led...one little
problem...the bow light was mounted only about an inch or two behind the
bow cap ...the bright led lights would reflect off the back edge of bow cap
...looks like it would be alittle distracting....I'm making an aluminum spacer
about 5/8 inch thick to raise the bow light...hopefully solving the problem..
Yours is set much farther back...might not be so bad....Another idea I had was to paint the back edge of the bow cap black so it would not reflect the bow lights back into my eyes....

Lookin Good EZ!
To determine the size hub you need, pull down the current hub and clean the bearings and seal. Write down the numbers stamped on your bearings and seal and cross them against this info:

Bearing Number Seal Number
1) L44643 12192TB

2) L44649 10-60

If you have these part numbers and both inner and outer bearings have the same part number you have a 2000 to 2200 pound axle with a 1.75 inch axle tube.

If you have two different size bearings in the hub then your numbers should be as follows:

Front or inner bearing: L44469
Rear or outer bearing: L68149
Seal #: 10-19

If this is the case you have a 3500 pound axle with a 2.375 inch axle tube.

Now you need your bolt pattern: Measure center to center across two opposite studs and add a 1/4 inch this will be your bolt pattern center.
Just by looking at your pics I am pretty sure that yours are 5 x 4.5.

Hope this helps, I bought mine on EvilBy for a real good deal and the people that I bought them from are real helpful in making sure you get the right hubs.

Wow, I'm really blown away by your resto. I woke up at 3 and could not sleep so i've read the whole thread. It is really looking great. Clearly you like the vinyl in the floor. How would you compare it to a roll in liner?

I'm still working on getting my S.S. The guy hasn't called me back. It may cost me 1k to get in it, but it looks like it will be worth it when all is said and done. I hope it will turn out as well as yours.

I may have missed it in the thread, but what year is your boat and motor?

Re: 18' Starcraft SuperSport restoration

Thanks brad. The boat is a '76 and motor is an '81. I like the vinyl product but I didn't do the greatest job in installing it. I have air bubbles. Nothing major but I'm not 100% happy with it. I tried my darndest to get them out but short of poking holes in it, it hasn't worked. Honestly I think I'd go with Durabak, Kiwi Grip or some other similar product if I had it to do over again.

My motor is now completely connected. The only things left to do is replace a bad bilge pump switch and install the starboard jump seat. Unfortunately at that point I will just have a nice boat on a trailer that doesn't roll and a motor that doesn't run (right). :( Both of these issues require money and/or expertise that I don't currently have. It will get on the water within the next 2 weeks I hope but I'm just fairly irritated at the whole situation at the moment. The weather here has been terrible so it's not like I'm really missing out. Even when it's nice out there's been high winds
