Here's the pictures.

Deck sealed with final coat of epoxy and interior exposed metal painted:

Prior to painting I replaced the cracked tabs that held this support brace up with pieces of aluminum angle and rivets:

Fiberglass cloth over the seams. It wet out pretty well so it's tough to see. I found this to be a pain to work with so I'm glad I decided not to do the whole deck:

One of my new SC decals installed. LOVE IT:

It's looking great E. Can't wait to see it finished. It's getting 'citing.

Looking good EZ...the decals look really nice. One on each side I'm assuming?

Also it looks like you got the ski locker cutout on just one sheet of the deck? Nice work.:)

Nice work EZ, looking good, between you and H.A. I wanta use my locker/access from the imperial in my SC, but I only have one center stringer so I would have to cut & splice some aluminum or offset it which would probably look dumb...man I gotta quit looking at your guys resto's...so many ideas, such nice looks and here I'll be come summertime still working on mine while your all out and about wrecking havoc on the waterways{lol}

ezmobee,
Very impressive work.
That S.C. decal came out great.
Your boat looks like you just pulled it off the showroom.
Very Well Done!!!

As usual, you set the standards for us EZ. My best bet will be to dock mine far away from yours so no one can compare the two.;) I am wondering what you have in mind for the ski locker? Is there going to be a "floor" or somethng to protect the ski's/ fishing poles and to reduce noise/rattleing? It does look great sir, mine is still under snow:mad: Dale

Thanks everyone. I think I missed a question above.....the bulkheads are made from flashing. Cheapest way to get my hands on some aluminum. As for my plans for the locker....it's actually going to be a rod locker not a ski locker. So I'm going to put some kind of rack in there to hold the rods in place.

Busy day on the boat today. Lots o' woodworking. Got pretty much everything in the bow area cut out and fitted. Camera apparently got real dusty.

Looks good EZ...very familiar to me too. I spent the entire day working on my bow structure as well.

Those boxes look great and will add plenty of storage(or room for more noodles:p). It's surprising how much more room the 18' supersports have in the bow than the 16'.

ezmobee,
The work looks great, I also think those boxes are going to give you a lot of storage and look great too. even without the noodles.
Great work

Re: 18' Starcraft SuperSport restoration

Thanks guys. Yes the bow is very roomy in the 18' SS. As I've said before, the 18' is much bigger in every way than my 16' was. I think this boat will meet my needs for a very long time.

This bow structure stuff has been a giant PITA and the pain is long from over. I'm not really too happy with how the bow deck can out. It doesn't continue all the way to the point of the bow basically because I botched cutting the first half. I have to figure how how to cut my hatches, how to hinge them, how to reinforce everything, how to carpet it and reinstall it without visible screws all over the place. I'm still pretty overwhelmed and just want the bow to be DONE because all the rest will be easier. I have a feeling I'll be buying yet another sheet of plywood and recutting the bow deck.

My plan for the hatches is this:

I really don't want to cut a hatch for the center section due to the logistics of it but there's a bunch of potential storage under there. Can you tell I've pretty well had it with this part yet?

Tell ya what partner, stay the course! Just keep thinking about what it will feel like standing on that bow, tossing out casts to lunker pike, pumped about all the ridiculous storage that you have under your feet! It may be a pain but taking the time now to make the cuts will pay big dividends down the road for ya!

Cheers Man!
