Re: 16' Nescher ski boat complete restore

Someone has way too much time! Wish I had known that NetMatirx, I was working on installing the ones I got today.....right now I'm in the house waiting to see what the T-storm that is heading my way is going to do. Right now looks like the normal lighting, thunder, rain, hail kind....but one never knows when things will get exciting!

I forgot all about the cables that I have until I was looking through my boat collection of items in my basement. I actually have 2 sets of these cables, but I don't know how well the other ones that I have will work. I have to test them all out and everything to make sure they don't stick or anything like that. Anyhow it is looking really good Arch. Make sure you do a video when you fire her up so we can hear what she sounds like. What kind of speed do you think she will have?

Re: 16' Nescher ski boat complete restore

Thanks Mick, I was just wondering where you have been!

Net Matrix, I'm guessing 50 is the best she will do from the prop calculator, maybe a little less.

I didn't get much done tonight other than figure out I may need NASA to install this depth finder! I did get some graphics for the sleekcraft logo from a graphic artist I know. I sent him one of Vegas's photos to work from. I wish I still had the cast aluminum ones, but they are long gone.....I'm guessing the idiot who spray painted her took them off! What do you guys think? I just printed it out on bond paper and taped it on. The final version will be printed on vinyl that matches the pinstripe I put on the fenders.

That'll look great.

You should be very proud. You've done an amazing job on that boat.

I like the way it looks Arch. It will be really nice once you have the final decals on there and in place. She's going to look really good going on the water with the beautiful job you have done on her. 50 is a pretty good speed to have in her.

I like the decal arch- that should look good in the pinstripe color.

I've been busy with school work big time. Trying to get everything done before the end of the school year. I had about 20 hours of sleep this week! I'm hoping I can find my way out to the garage tonight to finish up the sanding, cleanup, and then tape things off so she is ready fro primer tomorrow!

I got a couple (3) more nights of lesson plans next week and then I am done with the school work and back to the boat work full time:D

Looks nice, Arch. Good luck on the weekend with the rest of her.

Myself, I took the day off to load up and in preparation for the escape to the lake tonight. Sadly, though, there are docks, boat lifts, and plumbing jobs between me and actually stepping into a boat this weekend.

Ah well, just being near the lake will help....I hope. I'll just make motor boat noises as I'm sitting in the dirt under the cabin fixing pipes...

I went through the electrical "check list" so to speak...plugging in fuses.....flipping switches, etc.....all systems go, so I pulled out Miss Morgan and Max....then fired him up!

Great work man. Motor sounds great.

Just one tip, i wouldnt rev the engine over 2000 rpm's while on the muffs. Not a good idea :)

Good luck with your maiden voyage!

Apparently BBO's squirrel buddies have taken off with my pito tubing.......Guess that might make good nest building material? If anyone comes across a nest built out of it let me know....it would be nice to know how fast I'm going!

Just got through gluing the bilge pump and depth sounder down with 5200.....your right Jay that is some nasty stuff! Keeping it in the freezer does seen to keep it from hardening once you open it.

I also sanded down the exposed part of the seat frames and epoxied them again....think they are about as sealed up as they are going to get. :

Back to looking for the tubing.......:D

You don't need no pitot tube. Just use GPS. Speedometers are just for looks.

Buck the security dog got the tubing back....knew I had some reason to feed him! :D

Tonight I just worked on cleaning up loose ends...I finally got all of Max's "outfit" on...hooked up a couple of misc wires.....and epoxied the seat frames. I'm going to head to bass pro tomorrow and cash in a couple of gift cards on life jackets and stuff like that.

I have been missing for about a week doing a quick resto on a jetski. I just caught up on all of your posts, and I am impressed.
