Finally made some time, 10 or 15 minutes here and there, to get the front seat installed.

Cut some pieces and made a mount from two of the brackets at the top of the pic. Used a 14" drill bit and bolted it together with threaded rod and lock nuts. Added some plastic j shape under the long pieces.

Double checked the fit.

Marked the swivel holes and drilled the bracket.

Removed the post mount from the seat.

Made an adapter plate.

Added the swivel to the seat and mounted the bracket. Added some foam to protect the paint and make a real snug fit

Installed with a lower tube and kotter pins. Here is facing forward.

Facing backward.

It is off set slightly to port because I didn't want to cover up the Big Fisherman Plate.

Now she is ready for fishing, with some comfort.

All the guys here with indoor shops or warm weather have been making me real jealous. I been putting my laundry list of things the boat(s) need waiting for warmer dry weather. Made some time over the weekend to check one off while watching the roundy rounds (Nascar).

Pulled out some foam that was left over from a contract I had years ago to cover some deuce and a half seats, grabbed some plastic shells that matched the seats that had been installed and salvaged the vinyl and 2" back foam off the front seat of my old Crosby.

Drilled holes and installed some aluminum truss bolts. Pulled out the trusty Duo Fast staple gun and went to town. Decided to do seamless covers, less chance of water making it to the foam.

Padded fishing seats on a bottom feeder budget.

Nice job, 64. The ole motor behind the seat is looking nice too. In fact the seat and motor look like a perfect match.

Thanks GA - It is a great accidental match to the 57 Johnson.

One of the things I was looking at doing was converting my 57 18hp Rude to electric start and making it the main motor for the Lone Star. If I do that I might have to change the seat backs to grey.:noidea:

This is 1955 lonestar, thanks for the feedback. Not a expert at this so I hope you get this message . I made the console for fish finder and stereo out of pine . Primed it twice and several costs of enamel. Put watertight sealant around the console for phone or what have you. Mounted marine speakers under middle seat ponying down . Sounds great! Stainless screws of course. Gimble housing from amazon. If you could let me know the best way to get images to you , thanks.

55LS Your work sounds great. Start a photobucket account, load images, copy URL and use the Insert image tool above where you type. Post up your pics in your thread. I'd love to see them and pretty sure others would too.

These old Lone * Star's are great little tinny's.

GA, I've just started restoring my own tinny - this thread was great. Are you still planning on painting the outside, and how did the inside paint hold up after a season of use?

pc - I looked over your Naden thread. Nice project.

The interior paint is okay after one winter. Needs touch up. Several small areas of the seats bench have peeled up. Pretty sure my paint prep was weak on the seats. The floor at the stern is peeling a lot. My guess is spilled fuel is affecting the paint.

Hindsight being what it is, paint with hardener and/or a clear coat might be a good idea. On the other hand, it is easy to just spray some touch up paint on the bad areas.

No paint on the outside.

you did really a good work congratulations that boat was dingy but you kept in life with your creativity , you are good to use the welder.
i have a boat in wood so i cannot use the welder but i appreciate your work the same ! greetings by niky from italy
