EPA mixture screw covers 2003 BF50

Honestly, I've forgotten what temp they run at.

EPA mixture screw covers 2003 BF50

I'd look to see if it even has a thermostat. While there, is there a lot of corrosion on the block in that area? That can provide a hint as to the condition of the rest of the block and head internals..... Is this a salt water motor? If the motor has been overheated badly enough, the head...

2.75's are they just bad designs?

My 4 stroke experience has been you'll find this at about 500 rpm below max rated rpm. Save max rated for pulling duty.... "I would like to see how it would perform closer to the top end of the range though." "None made much of a difference." When talking a family pontoon boat, unless you're...

2.75's are they just bad designs?

Sounds good on paper! I have 13 and 15p 3 bld props for my Honda 90 powered 24'. The 13" just launches the boat from a stop - will pull about anything up. Top rpm about 6200 (motor rated for 6k, and there is no rev limiter), top speed about 24mph, and the motor is sounding pretty busy..... The...

2.75's are they just bad designs?

My vote (pontoon owner since 1978): missing something There's nothing very precise about the water flow to the prop of a pontoon. I believe sir, that your issue CAN be helped with a different prop. My first 2 tries/thoughts, would be to try a 4 blade prop. 2nd, would be to try some type of super...

    Adding ballast to the bow?

I guess I just assumed the boat was being trailered and that you could run it across some truck scales pretty easily. That weight slip in hand, you could do some Googling to see how much your boat weighs compared to others when new? THAT info may cut your story line short(er). Personally, I...

    Avalon water in Bilge

Completely normal to have in the bilge and at rest/lower speeds. Most will run pretty dry once you get the boat moving.

    Adding ballast to the bow?

You MIGHT want to have the boat weighed?

    Outboard height

It sounds like you're there now to me. This is getting into those 'druthers/compromises though. Where you are at now is easy on the motor, should get pretty good mileage (as well as can be expected anyway). BUT if you reguire best available for max towing performance, you'll be looking for...

EPA mixture screw covers 2003 BF50

With it running on shore (with a kown good water supply, careful of the the 3rd unseen water intake port), you can often locate your issue shooting carb cleaner through each of the idle mixture jets - one at a time. If you identify one that suddenly brings a cylinder back to life - you've...

    Help with Bimini top frame

I say show these pics to the people that made the top. If they can't figure out what the problem is, seems like they'd make you another one?

    Corner caps? Help!

If these are being replaced just because they are corroded, I can pretty much guarantee they'll be WAY easier to clean up that to find exact replacements. For generic replacements, let Google be your guide....

    2011 Bennington 24 ft. Pontoon

You have the plan. I like setting the 4 strokes up at about 500rpm under max rated. They don't sound as busy at WOT, and they're usually about the same speed....

Tohatsu 90 no start after water in fuel alarm

Is it possible your plugs are water soaked to the point they aren't firing?

    BF30 no start

One of the EPA's better ideas..... Those will come off, but if you've never done one before there's about a 75% chance you'll break it trying. That's a double damn as not only will you need to order replacements, you'll have to get what's left of the needle out of the way to replace it. My...

A pipe cleaner is WAY WAY to big! Think more along the lines of a single strand pulled from a small parts cleaning wire brush..... not much bigger than a whisker hair.....

Pay particular attention to the tiny idle jet that lives in the bore of the brass tube that goes from the top to the bottom of the carb. You should be able to see through the length of that tube.....
