Anyone ever fully decapitated a 60's MFG with the resin bedded cap?

I've been looking through some of these MFG builds and it looks like everyone tries to work around decapitating an MFG with the resin bedded cap. Wondering if anyone has seen one fully decapitated and how the resin bed was removed... looks like lots of grinding to remove one completely, maybe a...

    Boat Work Trade for Boat!

So I met forum member hadaveha back in the spring on this site and he just lives a few minutes down the road from me. David shares our passion for boats and is a verifiable MBS case, but not just any boat will do for this guy. He has a certain criteria they have to meet, they have to be 1. Old...

I don't think rule #12 applies anymore since there aren't red banners on outdated posts now. ... oh wait, the red banners never really stopped people from bringing old posts up from the archives either! Maybe a flashing blue light would work better?:mod:

    Spring Crappie Report (with pics!)

After a brutal winter and our lake water temp dropping down to 37*F with shore ice out to water 20' deep the water warmed up to 48* at the end of February, warm enough for some long line trolling. Depending on the water temp. I troll from 0.8 to 1.4 mph (gps). The warmer the water the faster the...

    2001 Infiniti QX4 Needs a Fuel Pump

Is anyone here familiar with changing the fuel pump on a 2001-03 QX4 or Pathfinder? The Q died on the wife the other day when she was on her way to work. She commutes 2 hrs. one way and the darn thing died 1 1/2 hrs. away from the house:facepalm:. She limped into a dealership and they couldn't...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I got the gaseous bubbles with the Nautolex 88 adhesive, and the directions even said it might happen but they'd go away. I didn't wait for them to go away on their own and rolled them out. When I started getting these bubbles is when I switched...

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration I'll be interested to see that, I can't imagine what went wrong that you couldn't roll it back down. Did you apply the adhesive to both the vinyl and deck, or just the deck? Applying adhesive to both surfaces makes for a much more secure bond.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration It may not be too late, give it a go with the rollers when you get home. Bear down with all the weight you can on the roller when rolling it and keep rolling 'til the bubble is gone... and you may have to roll it again tomorrow.

Re: 1979 22' Starcraft SuperSport V5 Restoration Get the roller out and start rolling those air bubbles to the edges, they will roll out now while the adhesive is still green. They won't when the adhesive cures. If the air doesn't want to go out the edges, lift that hatch frame and roll it to...

Boat Paddles as a Signaling Device

My boats paddles were getting kinda gnarly, the clear varnish was starting to flake off in some places and there was some checking (cracking)between the laminated strips. So I sanded them both down to bare wood and filled the checks with a thickened epoxy mix and the hit them with 3 coats of...
