    The drive has been standing on its skeg for several year in my garage.I am assuming there was a slight crack already there that got a little worse.I def cleaned some of the cavity out while servicing the water pump as there was some mucky crap in there.Cleaned out what I could by spooning it up...

    Cotter pin for Prop...Any one will do??

    Ace hardware had stainless cotter pins so I got one there.Looks exactly the same as what I am replacing.Should be fine. Will keep an eye on it during next season.Charlie

    Gonna need a new cotter pin for my Yamaha outboard. I have a Tractor supply store right down the block. A matching size cotter pin should work..?? Btw,I dropped my pin somewhere and figured I would find it with a magnet...NOPE ,it's not magnetic .Usually means it is stainless..?? Charlie

    I have recently seen videos of dudes winterizing Mercruiser engines using what I have ONLY used on my water systems.Pink -50 Super Tech Marine and RV antifreeze. I thought I remembered this being a BIG no on engines. Dont remember exactly why.Charlie

    Does Yamaha flush port/hose, flush 100% of motor?

    Flushing port def gets to the impeller....thats not my concern since Im doing the impeller every other season anyway.does it get to the entire upper???? thats my concern???? I think not unless motor is warmed up and stats open.Charlie

    Yep,thats why I store it indoors.Just saw an aerosol can of oil that blows thru the water inlet to coat the internals....not a bad idea for $10..??
