2006 Four Winns IO motor box/engine cover insulate

I recently bought an immaculate 2006 Four Winns Horizon IO. The engine motor box cover is made of fiberglass. Is there a good product/material that I could insulate it with in the inside to reduce engine noise. My old 95 Horizon had a wooden engine cover with insulation on the inside and vinyl...

2001 Four Winns Horizon correct hull repair needed

I realize obviously it was super amateur work that was done and knew it was wrong but was just looking for the answer on how it SHOULD have been done. I’m not buying the boat.

2001 Four Winns Horizon correct hull repair needed

I’m looking at a 2001 Four Winns Horizon in good condition to possibly purchase, however there’s one thing I’m puzzled at. I’m told the original owner tried mounting something in the ski locker and drilled 3 small holes in the hull. It’s been removed and the 3 holes have since been plugged and...

    2003 Crownline 180 flooring question

I'm looking at a 2003 Crownline 180. Its in good condition. Its carpeted with the original carpeting, in good condition. It is NOT snap out carpeting however. Are those fiberglass molded floors underneath and not wood with wood stringers? Seller didn't know.

Mid 90s (‘95)Four Winns vs mid 90s(‘96) Monterey bow riders

What’s the comparison in quality, overall general construction/resale etc between a mid 1990s Four Winns Horizon vs the same era Monterey bowrider both 20’ or under in length. Both mid/upper tier? Or not?

Four Winns Horizon 190 bilge pump

I have a question if my 1995 Four Winns Horizon 190 bilge pump is working correctly. If I switch it on with switch on the dashboard nothing happens, but if I then go in the engine compartment down in the bilge there appears to be a float, if I lift that up it comes on and runs and the red...

Trim and tilt problems on 5.0L

Here's a pic of the trim and tilt pump. Is the red cap the "fill" cap? Does it twist counterclockwise to open? I couldn't get it to move and didn't want to force/break it. Is it where I'd check the level?

Trim and tilt problems on 5.0L

Just a few questions here before I proceed with diagnosing the knocking/binding noise. 1-What are ALL the symptoms of bad/failing U-Joints? What should I all be watching for? 2-This boat was at the dealer last fall and the drive WAS removed and checked. They replaced the gimble bearing, u-joint...

Trim and tilt problems on 5.0L

Thanks for the information. A little more background to what's going on. The fact that it won't hold the drive up for a long period of time is not a new problem, it's been that way for a while. However, the "knocking/binding" noise is a relatively new problem and really concerns me. So whats the...

Thanks! There is a grease fitting on the side of the very top part of the lower unit. What does that grease/lubricate?

Trim and tilt problems on 5.0L

The trim and tilt on this boat works OK. All the way up and all the way down, every time without fail, uninterrupted. However, I notice 2 things. If the boat sits for a long period of time with the drive fully up, it doesn't hold, it very, very slowly works its way down. Also, when taking it up...

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

No leaks at all. Just those "knock" noises and the fact that it won't hold the drive up for a long period of time. I'll post it in VP section. Thanks Lou

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

Lou, Rather than start a new post/thread I thought I'd just ask here. The trim and tilt on this boat works OK. All the way up and all the way down, every time without fail, uninterrupted. However, I notice 2 things. If the boat sits for a long period of time with the drive fully up, it doesn't...

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

Follow up on this. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it all with a one-piece fuel line. Leak is solved. Thanks for the info/advice.

1995 Four Winns Horizon 190 Trailer wheel bearings

Thanks Lou, I'll consider getting the trailer brakes working again. In my case I only have a 2 mile drive from the storage space to the launch ramp so it's not highly critical and rarely is it taken further than that. But thanks for the info!

1995 Four Winns Horizon 190 Trailer wheel bearings

I bought a '95 Horizon 190 at the end of 2020 and am ready to get the wheel bearings looked at/repacked/replaced as needed. It's a Four Winns bunk trailer. I haven't noticed any problems but want to get it taken care of. The previous owner completely disabled the trailer brake system which is...
