    What type of Beam?

    Problem: How should I replace these two beams that hold the engine and gimble housing in place? The old beams are about 4 x5x32 inches. With a 1x3/4 little wood strip at the bottom of the keel.

    I purchased a 1982 19ft seaswirl with seized motor but as I was removing the motor I found that the beams that the motor and gimble housing mount too were rotten along with a fair amount of flooring. What should I replace these beams with Wood beams or something else?
