    Mercury 15hp - cooling issue

    20hp electric start but no charging system

    Is it common for an engine (20hp) to have an electric start but no charging system? I haven't pulled it apart enough yet to determine if it has a stator assembly, but it definately does not have a rectifier. Can that system be added on?

    1988 20hp Evinrude - lower

    Got a frozen lower unit on my '88 20hp Evinrude. Any ideas on how much a rebuilt unit should cost or whether it would be worth it to do it myself? Thanks.
