    sounds like fuel starvation ..tried an other tank/hose ? does it die if the tank is lifted above the motor ? if you hand pump does it die also ? any air leaks trying to suck gas. does itdie idling only or HS also ? venting OK ?

    does your key put out 12v (Yellow red ) on the S post when turned to START yes -no....? if yes key is good S post will have 12v as measured to ground if no key is bad... key S post will have NO 12v as meaured to ground replace key if key is confirmed GOOD .... the12v...

    shoot some carb cleaner up the upper section side hole to the drip chamber while you put your finger on the LS orifice #29. blow out everything with air compressor incl bottom section and all paths and HS orifice #19 carb cleaner should drip out the 3 small holes if you look...

    very conventioanl carb ...idling requires fuel to up the side and into the top chamber under the dime size plug . the throtlle plate being closed at idle will allow crankcase vacum to suck the fuel up the side of the carb into the idle chamber and... into the crankcase the side...

    why a new switch first check that the S post has12v when the key is at START... since Primer works the B+ is reaching the switch.. that S post B+ must reach the solenoid... control post does it ??? if you "ran a jumper from the yellow/red wire at the switch to where it connects...

    did you just replace ... what you found or did you look up the specs on the fuse rating because an under rated 5amp fuse can blow at the worst moment... just above the falls . :)

    Johnson 20 hp. Carburetor problem

    it can't leak more oil than what is mixed at 50/1 concentrate on the carb, thermostat etc... check ignition to make certain it fires OK otherwise it would dump raw unburnt full/oil in the exhaut housing washing out the lower section of accumulated carbon deposits.

    reeds are just one way mechanical valves that let fuel get sucked in the crankcase but not pushed out on the piston down stroke . This effectively guide the new fuel vapours in the cyl IN ports to refill the cyl and.... push out the exhaust.. Reeds work like check valves on a sewer pipe or...

    it is just water so fuel line should be fine. just find what fits and bends with no kinks...jmho :)
