Ratchet strap it snug not tight so when it slides lose you can control the fall. Install with same ratchet strap to help bear the weight. I never had that hidden bolt on mine but did see where it may have been at one point lol

Just take lower off not that big of a deal. Takes me all about 10 minutes while she holds my beer; then hook a hose up and turn the spigot, retrieve beer and watch

Without being an expert on this; if I were in this predicament, I wouldn’t hesitate to attach a water hose to the water tube while having the lower off and see if the water will find its way to the pee hole. And maybe even rig up something to test the lower unit water pumping ability just to...

1998 Force 90hp 2 stroke is it bad?

Very happy with the 125hp I’ve got. Done pretty much everything to it; for maintenance and/or out of curiosity to it. It came on a 1990 welcraft which also got an extensive overhaul; you name it and I pretty Much probably removed, cleaned or replaced it. The motor has never stranded me,

    Help with FORCE 125XT

Yep same thing as I got just not as rednecked as mine. 17 pitch will give you a nice best of both worlds idle/hole shot depending of course on how much gear and entourage on board. Let me know what part are needed as I’ve got tons lol.

    Tilt-n-trim electrical

Replacement unit runs about 395.00 although there are plenty of knock offs out there for around 80.00. Luckily arco marine has slow shipping department so I was able to cancel the 395.00 order. Thanks!

    Tilt-n-trim electrical

Update-decided to keep old unit and just to give it a good cleaning with some electronics cleaner and a small wire brush to get those stubborn rust/corrosion spots off. After further evaluation and curiosity (just to see if it’s possible)I decided to replace the brushes but…I thought since I had...

    Tilt-n-trim electrical

Thanks Jerry but I think I’m going to need to replace entire electrical unit as it is in pretty bad shape; lots of corrosion and rust on components. No point in just replacing brushes if there’s nothing but rust to solder them to-If I go to remove old motor from the pump is there a tutorial I...

    Tilt-n-trim electrical

Ok so I decided to go ahead and pull the two bolts on top of housing (2-wire system by arco) then gently pull off housing cap with a twisting motion. Be careful as the two motor brushes are spring loaded and the springs will wanna become airborne. There’s an o-ring encasing the circumference of...

    Tilt-n-trim electrical

Hello I have an arco marine 2wire tilt and trim unit which I’ve found to have a loose green wire coming out of the top of the pump housing. My question is; can I take off the housing to motor assembly to diagnose without draining the fluid?? Finally found issue which was on/off from time to...

Took out the LU shift pivot pin (Accident!!) and now I have a fluid leak. Any ideas?

Ever play the game operation? Pretty much what you gotta do to replace that o-ring; very carefully pull the pin screw out and put it in taking extra care not to nudge the leg. I achieved success pulling lower off and putting it in a vice between two pieces of wood, wife’s yoga video, shot of...

87 force 125hp high speed studder

Thanks Top I’m not discounting your suggestion as my feeling tells me that there may be an issue with the port covers and maybe even head gasket. I’m planning on diving into it deeper over the next couple of weeks; my work just got crazy so there’s not enough time in the day right now. Will post...

Depending on the engine I’m working on; I typically go to marine engine dot com, dial in to the model then go through their diagrams and part numbers then either buy from them or eBay-depends on $$

You’ll need a gasket or you may be able to re use the old (I wouldn’t). These engines are easy to work on, parts are getting scared but still out there for the most part. Fuel mixture screws are very important though
