    Flotation foam

I hope this helps. I recently did my holiday 18'. I went with Total Boat 2 part (2lb density). The kits come with (2) 1 gallon containers, Part A and Part B. I ended up using 3.5 kits total to do my floor. I wanted a full fill with no gaps and for it to be flush to the bottom of my floor panels...

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Started work on the new doghouse tonight. I'm debating if I should do a recessed area for cup holders or not. I'm not sure I want to add that much work to this part of the project. After I get this together I'm planning to coat the exterior in a layer of glass and finish with lighter weight...

almost forgot to mention, not a drop of water in the bilge area after about 2 hours so that was a huge bonus as well.

Another vid at speed. I kept it under 3k or so, I figured I would take it easy for the first 10 - 20 hours or so. I am really impressed with the power of this little 4 banger. https://photos.app.goo.gl/oSHVs83YvaJmbV8aA

Man, today was a really good day, after just over 2 years I was finally able to enjoy a couple hours out on the water. Received several compliments on the boat which I was kind of surprised by from how it looks but definitely added to the day. Also saw a nice Islander out there...

Here is a better vid after break-in still fine tuning the timing and idle mixture but its getting really close. It never ran this smooth or started this easy before. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ep1rvVUwNzK4E6XNA I still need to pull the valve cover and verify all of the push rods are rotating...

I think so too, I was really planning on going with a light blue but I kinda fell in love with this shade. It's quite the relief making it through the break-in that for sure. The amount of time that has been wasted on shipping times rather than out on the water has been rough.

I ordered the paint today. probably wont paint until the end of the season but I wanted to have it here just in case. I going to do Interlux Flag Blue and the Hatteress off white stripe down the middle. Similar scheme to this boat I found on the interwebs.

New temporary home. I cut up and repurposed the parts from the boat dolly to make an engine test stand.

    Speed of a 21ft Mariner

Its like cars and 150mph. Once your there it takes ever increasing HP to go just a little faster. With vehicles is mainly the aerodynamics so I would have to think hydrodynamics are playing a very similar role here. Very nice boat BTW.

I guess the one bright side to all of this down time is I was able to focus on getting the engine cleaned up and coated the way I originally planned. Even if it don't run, it will look purdy.. lol

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Man I really hope to hear that soon as well. The motor problem by itself is not that bad but the amount of time it took waiting on the machine shop and delivery of parts was painful. Every time I turn around there is another part, gasket, or seal that I need and that adds another week of...

Motor swap and missing chrome marks the beginning

+1 for riveting. Buy good quality rivets from a reputable source. Much stronger, and likely, easier fix as well.

Installed the oil pressure bypass valve then did some work on the intake. removed the carb studs and used a stone to smooth the surface. There was some corrosion and it was quite deeper than I thought. added sealant to the studs then reinstalled. I was going to start on the carb but I ran out...

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Worked on installing the new JL head unit and making modifications to the dash. I'm still not sure how I want to do this part, I guess I'll think on it for a bit before riveting anything in place. I also need to play around with speaker placement. If anyone has any input on this I would love to...
