OH, man!!! Great photo! All you need to do now is take that same shot, but with a different background, such as open water. ;)

    88 Capri Restoration (Splashed 08/2022)

Sorry to hear that you are struggling. But I am glad to hear that you are still advancing the project. Mine is ready to use, but the heat lately had been brutal, so I will wait for the temps to drop a bit. I admit that I have not been reading up on the projects in this forum like I used to...

New prop to try. This one a 15P x 15 1/2 It is about an inch lathe in diameter than my other two props, but if it fits, it ships. I started with a 19P, then a 17P and now a 15. The boat should leap out of the water on launch, now. Lol. I figure the extra diameter will reduce slippage...

I will likely sell the 19. In the end, all I need is one prop that works well, and a runner-up as a spare.

She's really looking good!! I like the clear coat. The trim looks fantastic, as well.

The 17P prop was an improvement over the 19P. Slightly better holeshot, slightly higher speed, and slightly higher rpms. Rpms came up around 300-ish from what I can see in the videos. Based on that, I just ordered another used OMC prop. This time it will be a 15.5 x 15P (3 blade alum.)...

I forgot to mention that I finally added my decorative vents. I wanted least restriction, but I also wanted it to look finished. These are perfect. I did have to cut them down a bit. I can't get to them well enough to screw them in, so I applied some schtickum and stuck 'em.

I'm out on the boat as I post this! Testing a 17P 3 blade. Rpm is 3k @ 32 mph. I need to review the video with the 19P to compare. She's running great, though. Gets right up on plane. Bilge is dry from what I can see. I'll post video later.

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

Put some Vice Grips on the fuel line and adjust the thumbscrew until it leans out at idle. But seriously, yeah, that's too much pressure for a carb. You only need a couple or a few psi or it will push fuel past the float needle. The cold engine can apparently tolerate the extra fuel. Example...

I finally got the block stitched up. I admit that I struggled a bit with it. That little stuff is hard for me to see. But I feel good about the repair. The pins and sealant should hold the cast together and seal the crack. The few places where I didn't use pins were not leaking, were...

It loses just enough to be annoying. The bilge pump can easily handle it. I currently have the manifold off, and a new gasket ready for the reassembly. I would rather wait and finish the repair than have to order another gasket and do double work. Too bad they don't have any competition. It's...

Still dead in the water. I called Lock-n-Stitch yesterday to check on my order, as it has been two weeks. I know my card transaction went through because I saw the notification the same day. I remember being shocked by the price. I checked it again Saturday and it was still showing as paid...

The last time I priced a new block it was $1,200 for the bare block. Then the engine has to come back out and be torn down. Can't just throw used parts in a new block, so there would be lots of new parts like rings and bearings. Reman engines are around 4K now. I'm confident that this repair...
