1957 fd-11 johnson lower keeps leaking

Diffs have vents do they not? Any good mechanic would pressure test a LU for diagnostic purposes and to confirm a thorough reseal job. Jmo

    1995 Johnson J6REOD WOT issue

I would confirm those number with another garage. Borrow a gauge from a friend or auto parts store. Lower compression will effect your top end power. If they are that low you could toss a wrench on the head bolts and resurface the head and replace the gasket and see where that gets you. Being...

    Johnson 88 SPL

If the ID tag is still there you might be able to remove the paint with a little paint stripper or acetone on a rag. Don’t let sit too long just gently rub it away. You might get lucky. Best

    Weird story

Not so wired these days. A buddy of mine interviewed a girl for a front desk job not long ago. She was bright and friendly and got the job. After about two weeks he felt something was off and started doing a bit of digging. Turned out the girl that was working was the twin sister. 😂

2000 Johnson 200 Ocean Pro - Out Of Ideas... Please Help

There is nothing to be intimidated by here. If you have done all the other work you will have no problem with pulling the heads for inspection. I have been following along with a lot of wondering why all this is being done with these low numbers and the overwhelming possibility of a serious...

    Hood replacement

It will take a little leg work on your end but if you cross reference the part number through the years you will likely find that several years will fit. Have you tried EBay yet? Usually a good resource.

Starter does not engage. (Need Advice)

Did you test yours? Hate to see you buy one if you don’t need one. You may find one right here on this site. Hit the shop icon in the upper left corner. If not here there are many other sites to choose from. Just goggle your model number and take a peek at what’s available.

Starter does not engage. (Need Advice)

If you use boosters cables directly to the starter + lug and a good ground what happens? If no start you could pull the starter apart for inspection. Or replace it. If it starts then it could be the solenoid or other wiring that needs looked into.

snapped driveshaft Mercury 2011 150 Optimax

I’m not sure what rev limiter are running these days when I was using them it was back in the 80’s on Johnson 235’s and they weren’t terribly expensive then. We were running off shore races a lot and they worked well by bringing the rpm’s down before hitting the water again. Man I miss those days.
