Stator 6hp non standard

Is the brass insert loose in the aluminum plate ?----This would not be my approach to this repair.----Is there a 6 digit number on that aluminum plate ?

I've done it and it seems to work realy well. A clonky old engine but hey! I'll put a video up on YouTube, I dont think I can put video up here.

Racerone the brass ring wasn't loose in the stator plate. The problem was play between the brass ring of the stator and the powerhead.

I always grit my teeth when I see a motor running wot in neutral. It’s just not good for the motor.
Glad you get her going.

I know. I considered not posting that as I knew it would hurt. But I wanted to see if it would clang. It needs to go for a run on a boat.

It was soooooo tight I had to use a pliers to twist it. So I took it appart and changed the washers. For the moment I'm happy its easy to turn. I'll tighten it a little before I put it on a boat.
