"Think we're gonna need a bigger boat"

I think my "restoration" using mid level materials and a much smaller craft then the ones described above now would have cost at least 2,000 in todays dollars and I just did it within the last year for about 1,000. Not including the engine components. When I add all that up I am probably at...

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

Here is where it is located. It is built in I will have to start digging into it once I pick it up and see how many wires were talking about. Sounds like a lot of splicing. Lol

    St Mary's Ohio Lake

Nice ya we were gonna launch in Indian lake but the mooring space price is ridiculous and I think Indian lake is in for a similar situation with run off as st marys was. We went this year and it was nuts how much algea and seaweed there was.

    Transom rot

You can undoubtedly use wood... I've always questioned this line of thinking.. Sure synthetic materials such as coosa are far superior products however these boats that used "wood" sometimes not even encapsulated in fiberglass and epoxy are after 40-60 years just now deteriorating is not bad...

    Transom rot

Gazza is on the right track. When it comes to these things there is not just one correct way to do it.. I think I spent approx.: 30-40 hours in mine all though it was an I/O same process exists get rid of bad wood replace with good wood/ try to improve upon factory install in the process. I...

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

Hi All, So most of you know I had upgraded boats this season to the 01' Mariah. The only items noted that we were going to upgrade on this one was going to be some upholstery work that needed addressed and the Radio Head Unit and speakers. I'm going to get it out of storage tomorrow and put...

    St Mary's Ohio Lake

Also st. Marys' lake is located in such a flat area that the winds I think play a big part into the chop now for me not a huge ordeal but we shall see how this season goes with the Mariah as we are going to launch her next month sometime. Water is high right now but I'm more worried about...

    1988 TRANSOM REMOVAL

I often questioned why the gimbal bearing was there to begin with I've only ever toyed with merc stuff. But this setup does seem pretty simple. Still looks pretty costly to for as outdated as it is.

check the oil, check for soft spots in transom and floor, check for blinker fluid. Do thorough inspection now. If all checks out tell him YES I'm interested I have cash but i need to complete a sea trial. Ask him what kind of deposit he'd be comfortable taking. ect.

Deck Build - 2000 Bass Tracker Pro Crappie

I'm in northern ohio so we deal with similar climate challenges. If you cant store inside just try to get a good quality snap cover or a sewing machine and make one they are relatively easy to sew up we made one for about 70$ for my little fishing boat. After We redid the transom/decking I dont...

Deck Build - 2000 Bass Tracker Pro Crappie

You could even sand the fiberglass layup and then paint it for a more fiberglass look and not add carpet. Carpet holds moisture and can rot away the wood quicker to. But its more a preference at that point of what you want the look to be. Carpet can be dried relatively easy if you keep it...

Deck Build - 2000 Bass Tracker Pro Crappie

Yes I would layup a single lay up of epoxy and a layer of biaxle stranded 1708 pretty inexpensive if you are going economy route. Then carpet over that. Wrap your edges and do both sides. It will save your wood for deteriorating. Likely get 10+ years using this method with a good grade of ply...
