    St Mary's Ohio Lake

Congrats. are you going to get the seasonal campground at Kozy or just do the state park? We have been on the search for a camper. Kozy said it had to be 15 years or newer to park it there for seasonal camping.. Our boats are over at the Kozy marina should be putting it in next month sometime...

    Volvo 3.0L engine Block

I'm thinking I'm gonna go ahead and buy it if It ends up being just some jb weld kind of fix then I end up getting a real steal. If it ends up being internal block swap i still got it for what the boats worth after making a few calls to some marine engine techs locally seems the swap would cost...

    Volvo 3.0L engine Block

Sorry yes meant short block. And okay the engine in question is a 2004 volvo 3.0l GL. I also thought the same thing and thought about buying a beater 4.3 in running condition and doing the swap that way to but would the already installed volvo SX outdrive marry up to a volvo 4.3 or do you start...

    Volvo 3.0L engine Block

So I have done a bit on mercruiser items. I have the opportunity to buy a real clean boat however has a cracked lower unit. (not known to what extent at this time) I know the risks going into this purchase and dont plan on pricing myself out of it completely... But I know GM sells blocks to both...

    Boat pick up gone wrong...

If you haven't followed my threads but live near northern Ohio I can show you two boats I have redone with wood cores and wood.. they will both last 30+ years I am confident without using the products you suggest that cost 5x the amount as I mentioned in a previous post it's about craftsmanship...

    Boat pick up gone wrong...

You also imply that Coosa and any other product but wood is the only way.. if you have 40 years left in a boat then sure... but who here has 40-60 years left in the boat that they own?

    Boat pick up gone wrong...

I agree I tried to ask for 90 days parts and labor.. they wouldn't bite instead offered one year parts... no wood rot. Hull is on me. At the end of the day if your not familiar it's a mariah they made exceptionally good hulls I did my due diligence as well looking today and no issues other then...

    Boat pick up gone wrong...

They informed me they'd give me one year parts no labor warranty once it was fixed. They are doing everything right which is why I almost want to purchase it.. but idk..

So I had purchased a boat during the off-season from a marina when it was shrink wrapped with the understanding if it wasnt sea worthy i wouldnt be purchasing it and theyd give my money back (all contractual) . I explained i wanted something with good transom and engine no soft spots and id be...

"Think we're gonna need a bigger boat"

Without a survey though (which on a budget boat it goes without saying a survey will not take place, maybe not even a sea trial) its safe to assume some sort of budget in any 30+ year old model boat purchase though. If you didnt assume some sort of rehab budget in that style of purchase you...

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

This got to be a foreign speaking topic for me you all lost me in all honesty. I think my initial thought to "upgrading" was adding features such as bluetooth. I just didnt know how big of a job it would be with the wiring aspect of it all. I know in car radios there can be 100 wires in one of...

    1988 TRANSOM REMOVAL

to be completely honest if you are comfortable disconnecting everything/reconnecting everything and the trailer is easily moved you can take it to a marina and have them pull the engine and put it on a pallet for probably 50-100$ this is the route I went. They have the crane and everything a lot...

    1988 TRANSOM REMOVAL

Depends on setup I'm not entirely familiar with Volvo but on Merc. You have mounts that attach to transom assembly bracket that connects to gimbal housing where you pulled those 6 bolts from probably (in the back) and then towards the front of the boat you have some that go into the stringer...

    Radio/speaker Upgrade

If there are wiring issues I dont even want to know about them till next season. Missed most of last season chasing issues on another boat.
