    Ran it for 1 hr. No issues. The guy must just not known a ton about boats. Glad I got in there and got this one. I'll still change the manifold but I'll run it on lake sometime this week and probably for many years to come.

    The surface was cleaned 1/2" all the way around the crack and it also was hit with rough grit sand paper. As for rot. There is 0 rot throughout the boat it was garage kept. Jb weld doing its thing been running 20 minutes now no issues.

    All welded I think along as it's just exterior crack I am golden I am going to replace manifold regardless of this working or not. I learned the hard way on last boat that a faulty manifold can do a lot of damage.

    Never owned a Volvo but found this in the engine bay. Do I not need to put the boat on muffs when starting it out of the water? It won't burn anything up on the outdrive? Guess I've always owned really outdated boats to idk? Or is that not what I think it is...

    Motors not locked up and yes I cleaned it up real good with a few different sanders and such. Then used acetone I used the original and will know tomorrow its been 24 hrs. Just giving it a bit longer.

    Interesting. As mentioned these boats in my area sell for between 9k and 10k all day long in this condition. At 7k with a new engine on the high side I'll be just fine on resale in even 3 years.

    Now i'm just going back and fourth about whether or not I pay for the crate engine or get reman'd cost difference is about 1200 but crate engine comes with 3 yr warranty where reman'd is a one year deal.

    Do you have contact information for for Doug Russell? And yes full disclosure I went into this with about an 8k budget with boat purchase price. Similar boats to this in this area are going for between 9k-10k pretty consistently.

    My original thought exactly until I started digging into 3.0 blocks apparently GM discontinued then so they are becoming more and more of a commodity. So much so that the 4.3 costs less... Looking at michigan motors I can get a long block for about 3300 and swap everything over to it comes...

    Hate to do this and brag a little but I see it all the time. Got this one for 2500 yes small crack in block and crack in manifold other then that it's mint. Would you have done the same? It's a 2004 stingray 180. Trailer was like new with brakes and new chrome tires and chrome fenders

    S Thanks Scott. So if I am on the 1991 and up side this being an 2004 I just want one being newer then 91 to be safe. Also here is pics of my 2500 boat. Def. Does have crack in manifold I don't see anything else I am going to change manifold and see if that's all this takes to fix it.. there...
