1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

No rubber on the seats, the rubber on the needle takes the place of the seat. The pics show 3 needles. One has a groove around it. I would change that. The black tip looks like it needs replacing too? Try to replace the whole thing if you can remove them without destroying it.

1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

g Carb: upside down, the float should be level, hook up a hose and try to blow through the needle/seat, should be no air going through. Turn up: the drop should almost touch the post. Needle/seat: inspect the needle, rubber tip, pointy no grooves. Solid needle: look into the seat, should be a...

199 Mercury Force hard to start

The low idle screw isn't a low idle screw. It's an air/fuel mix screw. Start at 1 1/2 turn out. Then after you figure out the running?? then adjust that screw for fine tuning. Never heard of a 199 Force 40hp. ??? If it's newer than 1994 then you might be having trouble with the primer(choke). Do...

1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

Squeezie: it's only job is to draw fuel from the tank, you squeeze it till it gets firm, job done. Then when the motor starts it should loose the firmness. Then it just sets there. Oh yea it's supposed to stop the fuel from going back into the tank. The one way valve stops the fuel from...

1984 force 125 low compression question?

Spray WD in hole before taking comp reading?? At 30# WD ain't gonna bring the comp up enough to help anything. Like I suggested before: snake camera, someone suggested remove the head? that's the next step.

1990 Force 120HP #2 Cyl zero compression and upon opening piston shows damage

It doesn't matter which way the vanes of the impeller set when installed. The second it is turned over to start it straightens out. The float in the carb: carb upside down: the float should be level. Carb right side up: the float drop should almost touch the tube. That's not as important than...

    Force 50 priming solenoid

You should see fuel squirt from the hose. No fuel? switch hoses around and test again.

1990 force 125 shift bellow leak

The seal should come in it already. If not it's an easy job. Just don't dig too deep and scar the metal mating surfaces. Post a pic of the new parts. Thanks, Jerry

1984 force 125 low compression question?

Start treating the bolts NOW!! PB Blaster and a small propane torch and a small hammer. Heat/spray and tap the bolt head, turn GENTLY. It was put together with 20#'s torque and shouldn't be real hard but if it is go easy. ONE BIG TIP: a motor with lots of hours, don't remove the exhaust chest...

You should be able to hear/feel the click even if it's bad :( The test is to push the key after unhooking the hose.

1984 force 125 low compression question?

A bad fuel pump or gasket shouldn't have anything to do with that low compression. Snake camara, 10$ one of the tools in my box.

    1971 outboard power head compatibility

They didn't change much in those models. In fact most changes when they made any were small things like a screw or a clamp. The kit should work.
