1971 outboard power head compatibility

Hi, I am looking at rebuilding my 1971 Chrysler 105HP. I've purchased parts for this motor from my local marin supply however they cannot go as far back as 1971. Most websites only show 1976 onwards. All the parts I purchased for 1976 has fit so far. However I am wondering if there is ANY difference between the two years other than the leg and gear box.

I want to purchase a gasket set, maxrules shows the 1971 model is discontinued however the 1972 is available. My local marine parts store can get a set for the 1976 model. Is there any difference at all?

Both those suppliers are good, very service minded.
There are another supplier I have use and it is Outboardpartsdotcom.
I am in Sweden Europe but no problem to buy parts from these suppliers.
They ship almost over the whole world.

They didn't change much in those models.
In fact most changes when they made any were small things like a screw or a clamp.
The kit should work.
