    I'm actually adding more than what was there originally, but with everything sealed up, I'm not worried about rot. I could have tried different colors or patterns, perhaps, but I'm an old-school sucker for originality. I need to thank @todhunter for the suggestion on carpet.

    After going through the fiberglass stage, I would have loved to have someone else do the dirty work, but where I'm at now, I'm glad I had the experience. Now, if my situation was like you explained earlier, my feelings may be different. I hope you and your family get many years of enjoyment!

    That's great, but make a hole larger to eliminate the possible wood to eliminate the wood contacting water. I used pex and a little 3m 5200 on the outside, whether I needed to or not.
