remove the inlet tube and attempt to pass a wire thru it. If the wire does not pass thru, unscrew the alum tube from the alum fitting and remove the screen
With number 1 at TDC compression you line up the rotor tip to where number plug wire is at the cap. Most have it at #1 on the cap.Some put it anywhere and jumble the plug wires to match
Firing order is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 clockwise
It combines the port and stbd battery systems together to start atleast 1 motor. Usually a Ford type solenoid with battery cables connected to both starters.

And you will regret this method for life after you break the nose bolt in the crankshaft
When you installed the cable, did you thread it in all the way. No more than 2 threads showing.
Did you adjust the movable stud all the way down first, then adjust fwd, then raise the stud to have reverse?
Alpha 1 uses nuts, alpha gen ii uses bolts and nuts
one in front, 2 on each side , 1 under the trim tab. You can drop the lower in any gear but to remove the drive it must be in fwd
