Battery issue with problem side motor, check start circuit from batteries to helm. Issue could be along that line.

Welcome to iboats

I will assume you mean Starboard Engine. How many Batteries are in the boat, and how are they configured? Have you done any Troubleshooting of the Electrical System? Fuses unblown, loose/corroded connections?
Do you have any kind of Electrical Wiring Diagram for the Boat from the Manufacturer?

Battery not connected to that motor

'Emergency start button'? Are you referring to the red breaker on the engine? That's not an emergency start button, it's a circuit breaker, and if it's popping it means you have a short somewhere.

Chris, thinking he has twins
Yes, I think when he said 'Starboard engine' there may be a 'Port engine' in the mix somewhere. :)

I'm still curious as to this 'Emergency start button'... Never heard of such a thing. Plenty of emergency STOP buttons though. ;)

One version I know of...
Emergency Start Button, adds or combines house batteries into the start bank.

It combines the port and stbd battery systems together to start atleast 1 motor. Usually a Ford type solenoid with battery cables connected to both starters.1656819001438.png

That seems fair... But I've never seen anything more than a particular combination of the battery switches to direct battery power to one place or another. Never seen anything labeled 'Emergency Start Switch'... (I'm also wondering how you hold this 'emergency start switch' in while running to the helm to turn the key?)

If something in/on the Starter Circuit was what tripped the Breaker, pushing it in, might result in the Starter Cranking the Engine, either by remaining untripped for a bit, or just being held in.
