    Restoring a 1990 Larson

Great progress in such a short time, very impressive! Please keep the progress pics coming. I am still waiting for someone to say "Yeah, it was built well at the boat factory and I want to rebuild just as strong." I guess if they were built better we wouldn't have this forum and most boats...

Thanks Tod and Sam, slowly but slowly... The seats are navy blue Sam but from a heat standpoint not much different than black. I did realize when I bought them they were going to be hot, there are white terry cloth slip covers I saw somewhere that I will be getting. The seats were such a good...

Hey guys, sorry I have been away from this site for a month, I just got caught up on your builds now I need to catch you up on mine. I have been able to make some progress little by little. I was able to get the Wise seat bases cut down 2", they should be just right. I hadn't riveted and sealed...

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

I just finished rereading your whole thread and this is such an awesome build, so glad you found the boat, or maybe the boat found you? Either way, such a unique project, you 2 are doing amazing work and I look forward to seeing more progress.

I got the drain plug area PB'd in, I am not mounting the drain plug yet because I am still working on the transom outer skin. I knew I had a small area to repair on the storage pocket support and ended up cutting out more to make sure I was back to dry wood, still need to go another 2" and it...

I bought the seats a few years ago because they were on sale and I liked this color. I had already started the deconstruction so I didn't get a chance to see how they would fit. I will probably cut the bases down or just make shorter bases, don't have to decide that right now. I wanted to make...

18' Ebbtide Riviera floor replacement: - on trailer blocking

Yes, exactly what gm280 said. Take more pics than you think you will need because so much will happen between taking the cap off and putting it back on. What gave me peace of mind was adding 1 x 4 cross bracing. They are screwed to the side pocket supports. Kind of a pain to get around at times...

Thanks guys, getting the transom in really feels like a milestone since I have always thought and hope it will be the one of the last big glassing tasks and now I can put the cap back on soon!

Transom is in! I had the whole day yesterday and with nice weather above 70 I wanted to make sure I got the transom in, filleted and tabbed in. I still need to add the drain plug and fillet around the pvc tube I will install. Earlier in the week when it was cool I used the time to grind down...

I got the transom outer skin redone. I am hoping to bed the transom in Monday. The skin was so flimsy, this stiffened it up a bit so the transom should go in easier and the outer skin won't have waves, I hope. I don't have the bunks bolted in, just screws for now, I pulled them back so I could...

I would like some input about my transom. I hope this pic gives a good idea of how thin the outer skin is. I am raising from 15" to 20" and my current plan is to use a piece of 1/2" pvc sheet (so resin won't stick to it) with 2x stiffeners to the outside. I plan to put one layer of 1708 as...

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

Awesome work Tod! Even though my project is probably half of your project I used shorter strips also. When I tabbed the top of the deck to the hull I used different length strips for the 2 layers so the seams wouldn't end up on top of each other.

As always KC thanks for the input and kind words. I am pretty sure I am going to use WOG's formula for the outside of the hull, makes sense to use it for the inside also. There is a Tractor Supply real close and I had already picked out the exterior color, will probably go with white for the...

    1989 Celebrity 181 Bowrider

If it helps I used the curved ends of the tongue depressor type stir sticks to get the nice radius to make the 1708 lay down real easy. I tried the PB in a ziplock bag and cut the corner and squeeze it out like a cake decorator but it didn't work for me, found it easier to just slap it in there...
