with the motor out of the boat, inspect it, and pressure test the cooling water jacket
short of on a dyno stand, running on a pallet will never get a motor up to temp without a load.
The correct paperwork keeps you from being caught with potentially stolen boats. Nothing sad about it. The person who you were looking to get the boat from doesn't have a title, therefore doesn't legally own it in the eyes of the law
Post a pic of both the crank and flywheel. If the nut was not torqued properly, the flywheel may have been banging back and forth. Wallowing out the key seats and damaging the tapers
pull drive (like you do with annual maintenance)
disconnect fuel/cables/exhaust
unbolt mounts
lift motor out
then build the cradle to match the shape of the hull.
Tractor supply has Rotella T4 15W-40 for $39 for a 2.5 gallon jug. the T5 and T6 is $59. since the boat takes 2.25 gallons...... you can tell which oil I buy for the boat/lawn mower/step sons car.
Save the manual transmissions.... The are required for the survival of the human race....
The T-Rex had arms too short to reach the stick and they died out.
Have you changed engine oil first? Or are you just looking at the stick?
When was the motor last ran hard to get heat in the oil?
What are the ambient temps when you last ran?
Is the boat fresh water or salt water? When was the manifold/riser/elbows last inspected
