Dolphin 14 Ft Sailboat

So,I decided to start off small. As I learn I will go bigger.
Anyways, not a lot of info on this boat. Can anyone tell me what the weight limit is?

dolphin jr, two people 150# or less

dolphin sr, two people 170# or less

Sounds about right. This is only for me and my husband.
Why on earth is there not any detailed info about this boat? There aren't that many videos either?? I am going to try to do some research. I don't want to buy with so many unknowns.
It seems as though this is a bigger Dolphin sailboat. Im looking at the pics and the area that you sit in or put your legs in seems bigger than normal. I see the logo on the side, it is a Dolphin. What model??? I dunno??? We go look at it tomorrow morning. Comes with the trailer and a small electric trolling motor.

You can find some general information about them HERE, and some on Wikipedia. I think (without photos) what you have is Dolphin's wet sailer, cat rig - very similar to the Sunfish boats that are all over. I'm guessing at the larger of the wet sailers which was the "Senior."

They were one of many manufacturers that didn't make it. Lots of them popped up and vanished in the 1960s - 1980s. And there weren't really "manuals" for the boats.

Easy boats to sail, and lots of fun.

In the past 150 years, about 150,000 boat manufactures have come and gone. Almost 2/3 of them made less than a dozen boats.

The dolphin boats are like the sunfish. However these boats are generally not for adults, primarily being designed for young sailors

I went to look at the boat! BEAUTIFUL! I will pick it up Saturday. Questions...its 16 ft. No title. We are in Texas. He received it as payment for work done. I have the haul # And the trailer plate #. What do I need to do? I want to make sure I follow laws.

You need a bill of sale AND the titles.

So disappointing! I really like this boat! I have the hull #. Just no title! Ugh!
Are there any options? Im grabbin for straws here.

Best to ask Texas Parks and Wildlife. They can tell you the path you'd need to follow and what you'd have to collect.

I called them. I will not be getting the boat or any boat without a title unless it is under 14 ft. Very sad.

The correct paperwork keeps you from being caught with potentially stolen boats. Nothing sad about it. The person who you were looking to get the boat from doesn't have a title, therefore doesn't legally own it in the eyes of the law
