Need some help with alpha 1 gen 1 sterndrive

You'll need a large two jaw puller and the carrier retainer tool, the drive shaft spline tool and pinion nut tool Might get away without the pinion nut tool but it's much easier with it. Probably get away with making a shift shaft bushing tool No clue as to the cost but they are all described...

2014 4.3 liter TKS bogs after running 35 knots for 45 minutes.

Have you inspected the contents of the water separator?

    Bogging issue

If the clear in line filter is between the pump and carburetor you should abate it The only filters should be between the fuel tank and the fuel pump. One water separator is sufficient. If the fuel pump is mechanical there should be a filter in the housing as well

    Merc 5.0 MPI drain plug

It's not uncommon for the plug to shear like the one pictured. Happens due to age, not freeze damage OP gets a new plug, installs it and goes boating. Summer full of fun boating memories

    glastron wiring help

Guessing a volvo package Purple wire by starter should connect to the opposite primary post from yel/red at the starter solenoid. This allows voltage to be applied to the fuel pump only while cranking. Once the engine starts and runs the alternator primary circuit provides voltage to the pump

    No Redline

First start of season, how long for water from impeller?

If the engine is a sbc and the raw water system is completely drained it should take maybe 10 seconds or so at about 1200 rpm to start seeing water exit the exhaust if the pump and system are sound You'll note a change in the tone of the exhaust as water begins exiting

1997 Mercruiser 5.7 EFI blown head gasket

It doesn't matter. The heads will be off, doesn't happen very often so use the opportunity to have a machine shop go through them Decent machine shop with normal volume should be about two week turnaround If they find they're not repairable they can most likely source other heads for you

91 OMC King Cobra Transom Shift Cable issues

Got that from your OP Again, you need to adjust the cable. Make it longer/shorter by adjusting the trunion for the anchor mount at the shift plate. It's possible the remote cable needs adjusting as well

newb w/ 87 Bayliner Volvo Penta, cracks where outdrive mounts?

I've seen many bayliner boats (and others of the same vintage) with the knock down style paint pictured in the OP I'm guessing that the paint is oem and wasn't added by anyone to hide any faults in the transom The bayliner is close to 40 years old and seemingly original. If it didn't look like...

newb w/ 87 Bayliner Volvo Penta, cracks where outdrive mounts?

Transom rebuild Pull the drive, engine, and transom assy Remove glass and wood from the inside (bilge) to outside (gel coat) until dry, solid wood is found Replace as needed with new wood cut to fit, preferably white oak but layered marine grade plywood will suffice. Re glass the inside...

91 OMC King Cobra Transom Shift Cable issues

Then it must be the adjustment. Too much reverse/not enough forward I have no clue as to the process of adjustment but I reckon it should be fairly straightforward

91 OMC King Cobra Transom Shift Cable issues

I know very little about the king cobra package but my guess is the lower shift cable is either out of adjustment or worn to the point of needing replaced No clue as to where one would source a new cable. Maybe sierra, sea way, or brp?

1997 Mercruiser 5.7 EFI blown head gasket

Best to send the heads to a machine shop for a valve job while you've got them off. You can look up the correct oem head and intake gaskets using the engine serial number

    Black flakes

I don't know The pulleys, ps pump and y pipe are painted black Maybe it's not paint, but it looks like paint. It might not be paint but another substance that resembles paint. It's definitely in the bilge though

    Overheating 5.0GL-E with SX-M Outdrive (2004)

Verify that the hoses on the sea water pump are installed correctly. Check for any blockage/restrictions between the drive pickup and sea water pump along with any impeller pieces/debris between the pump outlet and thermostat housing
