Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Fiberglass rolling tools( not rollers to apply resin). This will be to rollout air bubbles in your fiberglass. they are relatively inexpensive. I used cheap chip brushes instead of using a roller to apply the resin.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

I used a paint stirrer to get the globs in place. Then used plastic spoons to create a reversed radius. You want those to be as rounded and as smooth as possible so your fiberglass tabbing goes in much easier. i also used a 1qt plastic bag. Filled it with thickened resin, cut the corner about...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Well I hope it subsides soon. Always wear sleeves. You may want to put baby powder on your arms as an extra precaution. That tends to help block the pores. You may be extra sensitive to the glass fibers. good luck. Hope you feel better.

    Stringer install

Someone else may chime in but I think the strength comes from the glassing and not gluing the to the hull. I left a little gap and used peanut butter. Used the plastic bag method with the corner cut out and squeezed it in. Then I tabbed in with glass and completely covered with 2 layers. some...
