Knocking sound - what is it? [video]

I don't know if it's the video frame resolution or me but the power steering belt appears to be loose. And the pump itself seems to be moving?

    Transom leak near exhaust

Based on the photos, video and things you've sealed up I'd say it's time to pull the motor and remove the transom assembly Probably gonna find a lot of rot in the lower portion of the transom hole and most likely corrosion at the lower mounting studs

2009 Larson Cabrio 260 Electrical Issues

The only way you'll have 110v AC power on board is connected to shore power, utilize a generator or have an inverter with a dedicated battery bank I think you ought to contact the seller and have them show you how to use the inverter if the boat is so equipped. Otherwise a seasoned boat...

1988 Searay 250 - Throttle: Fix or replace?

The remote assembly itself may need cleaning/lubrication Not horrible to remove the assembly. Pop the plastic cover off the top and it ought to be held in place on the helm by four screws, possible through bolted Once out remove the plastic cover and inspect. If you decide to remove the cables...

    3.0L MerCruiser, idle trouble.

1100 is too high an rpm for idle speed in neutral. You want around 750ish in neutral, 650ish in gear on the water What is the idle timing set at? Carb looks way aftermarket, unsure if I'd have confidence it is of sound quality

1988 Searay 250 - Throttle: Fix or replace?

The binnacle mount remote pictured is a nice one. I've run into little issues with the single engine controllers of that style You can try lubricating the cables but most likely they need replaced With the cables disconnected from the engine end does the controller handle move smoothly? When...

replacing the inner prop shaft seal on bravo 3

In order to properly remove/install the seals the propshafts need to be on a bench. I use a small slide hammer to remove the seals. Too risky with damaging the carrier housing cavity with a seal puller You will need the special tools to do this job correctly

replacing the inner prop shaft seal on bravo 3

Can replace both propshaft seals without removing the drive from the boat I prefer doing the seals this way, helps support the drive for the removal/install of the retainer and carrier requiring high torque Once the job is done then remove the drive for pressure test, lube fill and transom...

    Cracked Mercruiser 165 block

Thats a shame Gm inline 6 is a wonderful motor. Based on how clean the package appears in the (fuzzy) pics it might be worth sourcing a different long block
