    So it's been a month and the oil went back to the color of fresh out of the bottle and no water in the bottom. I have a water pump kit but I'm just going to save it for 4 years from now because I changed the impeller last year.

    Mine was pumping water fine too but it was the impeller.

    I have the same motor but a 2000. I had almost identical issues your having last year. I think your motor is overheating and going into slow mode. When was the impeller last changed?

    What about a power pack? I don't know much about the motor but my motor was doing that a couple years ago and that's what it was. It just sounds familiar.

    Are you using bad fuel? Try starting fluid if it fires up then I guess you have bad gas. I don't know why you wouldn't be using good fuel in the first place

    Power trim

    I was just wondering if this sounds right. My mother's friend told my mother that the power trim is broke. I don't know what motor she has and it's on a pontoon boat. The dealer told her it would be $3000 to fix. That just sounds outrageous to me, does that sound right?

    A buddy gave me a bag of plugs. The sticker on my motor says QL82C it a J25TEL3SSB. Half the plugs in the bag are QL82C and half are QL78C. He said that they are the same?? I checked them with the gap checker and they are all gapped around.30

    Weird situation, looking for advice/how to repair

    The front clip is broke of on my motor and I just use a piece of gorilla tape. If you get it running again I'm sure a couple piece of tape will hold it on enough that it won't blow off going down the road.

    Click on the down arrow at the top of the page and download it to watch it. It was doing the same thing to me but after I hit that arrow and downloaded it I could watch it.

    Change the female end on your gas line. Try your motor in a garbage pail and make sure it's well submerged. Lots of times the motor isn't far enough in the water and it won't pump.

    I need to order a water pump for a 2000 25hp 3cylinder Johnson J25TEL3SSB. What is the piece above the impeller cup on the Sierra pump kit. Some kits show them and some don't. I don't think I remember anything like that when I put the impeller in last year.
