Source for Johnson OB ign wiring?

I could solder new bullet connectors to the original wire. However, I thought that since the harness is simple and small, replacing it would be cheap, and I would get new connectors on both ends. As of now, I cleaned the bullet connectors with electrical spray, sanded the insides of the female...

Source for Johnson OB ign wiring?

On my '98 Johnny 150HPV6 there is a short (6 inch) wiring harness with 6 bullet connectors that go to the ign switch. The other end plugs into the main boat harness. The P/N is likely 0176673. I had thought it would be avail, but no dice. Anyone have a source?

Gee, I could not tell from your photo what the gauge originally looked like. Amazon has some generic black and chrome ones.

    Getting New Knees . . .

My neighbor, B-I-L and others have had that done. The way I understand it is if you faithfully perform the rehab exercises you will have a good pain-free result. If not, the result will be bad and painful. Best of luck.

    Winterizing procedure

You replaced the oil filter, but not the engine oil? That is unusual. Remove the prop clean and grease the steering rod Spray the powerhead with some corrosion resistant stuff Don't forget the grease fittings, especially the swivel bracket one, or you will hate yourself.

shaft is stuck in the crank shaft

You can open the crankcase and remove the crankshaft and driveshaft as a unit. Now you can heat and pull them apart. You can probably put an oring on the driveshaft to act as a seal or just use heavy grease on the driveshaft. Also, heating the driveshaft and then spraying with a penetrating...

    Trim gauge needed.

Gee, take a look at Faria and Teleflex, as they are two of the more popular OEMs. See what matches up, size and appearance-wise. Amazon has a lot of other ones as well. SeaRay used to use Teleflex with a custom SeaRay background, but the colors were the same. I was able to substitute the...

Are pontoons easy to repair by welding?

We happen to have a very good welder up the street. I have encouraged the owner to take some photos to show him and see what he thinks. The owner seemed resistant to that idea for some reason. I need to wait and see what path he chooses. My questions have mostly been for my benefit, and I...

    Ants in the boat

Peanut butter is usually a good bait for mice. However, the one in my garage won't touch it. I tried for weeks. The trap he set off was baited with sunflower seeds. He had been eating those for weeks out of the bird seed. Weather he would walk the ramp and fall into the trap, I am not...

    Ants in the boat

Sure looks good, however the mouse in my garage ate thru the tote I had the birdseed in and climbs in and out all the time. He would make mincemeat out of that bucket unless I had some way to kill him. He also stole the mouse trap I set for him. Since I doubt he could climb with the trap...

Are pontoons easy to repair by welding?

The point of the bow is where the damage is. It looks to roughly be a 60* angle, although it is a complex shape. The entire pontoon looks to be welded together from at least 3 sections. Certainly, the best repair would be to cur and join custom pieces. I thought some creative flattening of...

    78 Mercury 700 - Waterpump Base Removal

I would pressure test the gearcase and only replace leaking seals. If you look at the threads for the gear housing nut, you will see that they are full of paint, and/or worn down. Removing that nut will be really hard even with the right spanner and bearing carrier assembly puller. A lot of...

    1620 lowe battery setup (wiring)

An outboard motor would require heavy battery cables to power the starter. Lighter battery cables could power a trolling motor or other house loads. Are there any signs that a trolling motor was ever mounted?

Use two wide screwdrivers to pry it alternatively straight up. The friction of the oring seal is the only thing holding it in.
