Filling a gap in core material

I'd cut a piece to fit in there with perhaps an 1/8" gap around the edges. Mix some thickened resin and press flush. Cover with biax and you should be good to go IMHO. Can also do a partial fill with thickened resin and form wetted out biax into the void.

My ETec will also run if the kill switch clip is not in place.

Most of us have never had a close call which leads to complacency. Complacency harms or kills nearly every time.

    1981 Springbok 18' Restoration/Renovation

Said as I can't work on my boat because the weather has been too cool for resin work. I love working with glass. ;)

    Finally. Some warm times.

Yeah, it's all skirting North of us but still too cold to do anything other than boat demolition work.

    Finally. Some warm times.

Getting some warm afternoons here and there. Getting a chance to nidacore the hatches on my boat. They were originally constructed with some kind of rot resistant redwood and would leak reddish water if they got rained on too much. First time using vinylester resins too. Cheaper for hatches and...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

It is much like having run your first marathon. You know what's in store. How to pace yourself. There is no fear. Darnit! Now give me warm weather to start glassing!

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

IMHO anyone who does what we do is certifiably insane or a super hero! I love seeing other people progress! Back in 2014ish when I took on my rebuild, I was thinking "What have I done!" Now, with the right hull, it's like "Wet transom? Water in stringers? How low will you go on the price?"

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

I'm not a big fan of PL. I used it in some spots and although it held well for a while, it just gave up the ghost. As I showed in my pics, the thick mix of cut glass with fumed silica was all that I used. Didn't use any screws. I am cutting off the cap here as soon as I get some decent weather...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Mine was a Carver 70018P which is a PolyGuard cover. Very impressed with it.

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

I also sew a lot of things from clothes for my granddaughter to curtains to long distance bicycling bags to pillows and more. If we want something, I make it. I have a high end Singer for lighter work and a heavy duty one for the big stuff. Twelve years ago, for my 18' Stratos CC, I got a...

    1995 Crownline 202BR Restore

I assume that you'll fill the voids with foam. When I did the decking on my Stratos, I mixed up epoxy with a slow hardener and added cabosil and cut 1/4" glass. I then put it in a gallon Ziploc bag and squeezed it out like frosting on the stringers and bulkheads. My decking had the bottom side...

    Boat value

I can imagine the amount of money spent on the engine. Sadly it is not a high demand boat. Put i up for sale for what you think that it is worth so that you have some room to adjust as needed. Best of luck getting a good price. OT You're way up there in B.C. Well NW of Banff. Shuttled over...

    Boat value

When someone details every little item on a boat, they tend to believe that it is worth a lot more than it is. Are you looking to sell or buy?

Great work so far. When I did my rebuild, it was with epoxy. Took about a month before the budget overflowed into just throwing money at everything.
