    Can you monitor rail pressure on this model electronically or does a gauge need to be connected? That could tell you if the problem is with injectors or before. Also, any common connection between the port/stbd fuel system would indicate your problem is downstream of that.

    The boat isn't worth 12k, especially if your friend is trying to sell it to you. Not worth it unless you do it yourself. Is the block new or reman? That's big money for reman. You'll also need to find out what caused the engine to seize. Most likely bad exhaust manifolds, maybe freeze damage.

    OP hasn't let us know what he's doing but my guess is replacing long block with a newer one. His old setup had a mechanical pump.

    From mid '90's on or so the V6/V8s didn't have the machining for a mechanical pump.

    The factory wiring doesn't use a relay. You're correct that the starter is back fed once the engine is running, but that connection opens when OP decreases at the switch. I used a 3 contact OP switch. Switch closes with power from the starter (or I used the yel/red wire from the ignition/slave...

    I was thinking that as a reason not to use SS nut with aluminum prop, but brass nuts are commonly used on both, no? Yes, for why nylon isn't used on stainless... But why not brass on both? Corrosion like Scott said or just to save a buck?

    While installing my prop realized too late that the nut was nylon. Looks like the part # is 11-88228. Any reason not to go with a regular brass nylock nut, and does anybody have a part # or size?
