    OMC Crossflow Piston Scallop ?????

    Is there any benefit of scalloping a piston with out cutting the block the same ?? This would be for mild tuned V4 crosflow. No all out race motor. I have read a lot about the subject and i understand what it does but is it beneficial to cut the piston without cutting the block ???

    Can you tell what month of the year an out board was built? How many motors were built by johnson of a certain HP each year ? I know my was built in 1979 the last 4 digits of the id number are 3989 Is this nay clue to when it was built Model number is 115TL79R
