    1986 OMC Cobra 4.3 (shift cable adjst?)

    I downloaded the OMC manual 86-90 something and can't find the shift cable adjustment. Is there a measurement that i need? It grinds going into gear. The cut out switch is working but i can't get it synched with the cable i believe. This was a complete repower job.

    1986 OMC Cobra 4.3 water pump ?

    Whats with the pin hole in the waterpump housing? It looks factory. I had the drive cover off and replaced the impeller, started it up and it shot water out a pin hole in the housing. Is it there to bleed the pump or to tell that it's pumping?

    Second attempt(thread didn't post 1st time)

    I have reworked my transom in my 1972 SS215 Slickcraft 21.5' to take a Mercruiser instead of the OMC stringer it once had. I Have the transom assy. plate,gimble, and 1.50:1 drive from a V8. I was going to put a 305 or a 350 in it, BUT! I found a boat today i can buy reasonable with a good 4.3...

    Over heating when slowing down?

    89 5.7 hooked to a OMC stringer. Can cruise along at at any speed and temp stays fine 160* new thermostat. As soon as we slow down the engine goes right up to the red 200+, let cool and do it again. Same thing! Any ideas?

    Will a 19 94ish 4.3 bolt up to the belhousing in place of a 5.7? Other than the ratio difference in the drives.

    Volvo, Interchangability?

    B130 4cyl. Volvo, Can you swap a 1988 290 power trim drive with a 1986 275 elec/mech. tilt drive? Are the two interchangable without changing the tilt systems? Leaving the elec/Mech. and putting the 290 drive on it. Leaving the power tilt using the 275 drive? Thanks

    need wiring for older style tilt for volvo

    AQ 131, 1986 need the wiring (diagram) for the tilt sys. the manual has newer version. I need the one that has the elec. motor attached to the housing which runs a worm gear and shaft for tilt (not hyd.). I have up no down?

    Picked up a cheap boat to repair. It's a 1987 Chris Crast 2.3 ford OMC Cobra drive. Guy said they ran it out of oil? Hard telling he didnt even know it was an OMC. told me it was a Merc.
