    Curious?

    I know it's an absolute to use a marine starter safety from bilge fumes. But what exactly is the difference ? I noticed a rubber gasket seal between the solenoid and where it mounts but thats the only thing i could see different? is it just that it's sealed covers and seams etc.?

    Heat exchanger ?

    Could i use a 1980 mercruiser 3.7L heat exchanger on my 1968 165hp 250cid L6 ? there's no expansion tank with it but i could get one. And were there two heat exchangers on the 1980 3.7L mercruiser ? The seller said it;s the 3" smaller of the "two" ? Thanks

    L6 250/292 ?

    the merc manual specs say that the 250 L6 was 160hp with a 1brl carb. then it says the 250 was 165hp with a 2brl carb. I just picked up a 292 and the manual says the 292 was 200hp. Now, is that with a 1brl,2brl or 4brl carb? It doesn't specify that so i'm curious what it would be with my 2brl...

    Does anyone know if there is suppose to be a solenoid(starter switch) beside the one on the starter On a mercruiser L6 165hp 250ci 1968-1972? I'm going to look at the wiring schematics however I figured someone might know off hand? Thanks.

    I have a chance to buy this 1972 SS 235 slickcraft with e-z load trl. new bimini full encloser and side curtains for 4-600.00. the motor is stuck and it has an omc i think or a volvo. If convert it to a mercruiser would the transom hole be the same larger or smaller?

    I have two fuel pumps that i could install the better looking, cleaner one has a third threded hole whats that for ? the other just has inlet and outlet. They're the same except for the spare hole. it's above the inlet and outlet section. anyone? thanks
