    I agree test drilling the transom and stringers with the motor out 5/16" drill, mark off a drill depth of 1/2" to 3/4" Drill 2" above the inside of the hull. And check the shavings for moisture/rot

    agree with above trying to swap a motor with the drive in is 5x as difficult than doing it with the drive off since you have to have the drive off to align the motor. just drain the gear lube and pull the drive off the boat.
