    General question concept of bleed hoses what function do they perform exactly?

    Trying to understand the reason these guys are hanging all over the engine. What are the bleed hoses used for. Wonder how they came into being. Thanks gary

    250hp EFI miss at idle blowing bleed hose off. 1999 model year.

    Will start and run, and run fine at higher RPM's. When it is slowing down from higher RPM and drops into idle mode it starts sneezing. And if left long enough it will sneeze a bleed hose off, seems to be the same hose. Not sure where to begin to attack this particular problem. Thanks in advance.

    Looking at buying a boat with twin 150 Johnson's owner says that both powerheads changed 3 years ago . Hasn't been run in 2 years and he says will turn over but not start do have good compression. Is it worth it to renew/rebuild or what. Thanks
