2022 Splash Of The Year voting

88 Capri has my vote. So glad to see you button your build up and get her on the water. May you enjoy lots of time under way in the coming year.

The Waiting is the Hardest Part...

It's taken a bit longer than expected to get back around to the boat, but I'm almost there. This year has been wild. That's all I'm gonna say about that. Here's to persisting through the rough patches and figuring out a way to make things work out for you in the longer term.

Restoration project - 1965 AlumaCraft Maracaibo

Looks great! Any details re: the dash fabrication?

    Another Bayliner, 1986, 19'

Congrats on getting back out on the water! Nice to see that you persisted and got her buttoned up. Really appreciate you sharing your adventure.

Just acquired a 170 Horizon. Assembly required.

Heck yeah, Chevy! I can't recall if you'd gotten her out before now - was this her first time on the boat ever, or just this season?

The Waiting is the Hardest Part...

Going to work on a few around-the-house projects over the course of this long weekend. Don't have hard date as to when I'll get back underway, but I can feel it getting closer. Found this guy on eBay - should be here in a few days. I already have both the shop and operators manuals - even...

The Waiting is the Hardest Part...

Short version: I almost called it a day. Less short version: Had some things come up in my life that forced me to reprioritize things somewhat significantly; I've put the project on ice, and came dangerously close to selling everything. At current: still at a bit of a cross roads, and I've...

Motor transplant, is my home-made transom strong enough?

You mention having already rebuilt the transom, right? How close are you to the original specs?

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

I'm curious too - is there a benefit aside from simplifying the wiring coming from your power distro block/to your negative bus bar?

The Waiting is the Hardest Part...

I really wasn't going to post anything negative at all about my experiences from this past week. As it is, I'm going to say something, in the event that it might help someone else down the road. I encountered nothing but problems with both my engine stand and engine hoist. They'll serve their...

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

Still looks pretty awesome from where I sit. I'm far from an expert, but a good cutting compound might get those swirls out...

The Waiting is the Hardest Part...

Progress, yes. A few complications, but still pushing forward. Engine stand is assembled. I got the hoist in a couple days ago; hoping to have it assembled this weekend. I've got a few more things to sort as well. One involves moving a project vehicle that might or might not need to be towed...

    88 Capri Restoration (Splashed 08/2022)

With your interior being in as good a shape as it was, I'm not surprised to see you keeping more or less the same color scheme with the carpet. Blue is my fave color, but since my interior was completely shot AND had been partially redone, I have no idea what colors anything is going to be.

    Cracked hull, bottom of boat

That sounds like a pretty happy ending to me :) Ya know we're all fiends here - even though you didn't take any pics of the resto in progress, would sure love to see some now the work's all done!
